Managing Libraries through Live upgrades

So what do I do with my old libraries that are still on my HD, some with huge amounts of samples/presets/etc that are not in my Live 7 library? Do I use BeyondCompare to merge them? I don't want duplicates because I only have an 80gb drive on this laptop and it's 75% full already.

I don't ...

Thanks!

Yep, that was it. Funny, similar problems in Adobe After Effects were solved with this too.

If you need Intellipoint at other times and don't want to uninstall it, you can just go to Task Manager and kill the ipoint.exe task before you use Live and that works too.

GUI Refresh issues in Live 6 on XP: menus, VST screens

Hi, suddenly I'm having some screen redraw issues in Live 6. Menus are not drawing consistently, sometimes only drawing on mouseover, and VST screens are sometimes disappearing too.

Clearly a screen refresh/redraw problem. Not sure what I've installed that could have munged this.

Anybody have any ...

need advice: recording a midi clip without a mouse

i'm trying to figure out how to keep from having to click the little arrow in the midi clip with the mouse, then jump to my keyboard, play x bars, then hit the spacebar to stop recording, then go into my midi clip to clean up all the extra time at the beginning that elapsed between clicking the ...

Live 6.05 & Trigger Finger (windows)

I am having a huge amount of difficulty getting trigger finger's midi signals into Live. In fact, Live has been very spotty on recognizing my USB midi surfaces (ozone, trigger finger, radium) since I upgraded. I've lost HOURS on this issue now and am getting to the end of my rope. When I run out of ...

Thanks!

Michael, are you talking Arrangement view? Then you're both suggesting I work in Arrangement view instead of Session view?

I'm very addicted to Session View, in fact, it's pretty much the reason I use Live.

Pasting midi into clip window within the active bars

When I record a long improvisation session into a MIDI track, I want to capture the best bits and turn them into smaller midi clips. Whenever I copy a few bars of MIDI and try to paste it into a new clip, the notes get pasted at -26 bars or something, never at beat 1 of the first bar.

Sliding the ...
