I need to buy xp for a new laptop because I can't stand vista. Home edition is cheaper and this laptop will only be used for music so I don't need any flashy features. What I am wondering is there an advantage or disadvantage to buying Pro or Home? Running ableton, serato and some midi controllers.

Please I want automation clips in the session view. so you could trigger effects or something while you play a guitar or scratch live and have automated effects as a clip in a scene to cue a certain points to improvise

Don't block your fan!!! Over heating is a common problem. I have a Laptop stand when i gig. Plenty of air flow.
