4) I play waves 44100 16 bit
5) I play no more than 3 stereo tracks at the same time

Uhmm.. I was thinking it was a problem of Windows Vista, but now I can see it's a problem of Ableton...

I updated Live to 6.07, I installed the latest driver for my Indigo I/O, no way. I always get at least one interruption in audio (from half second to 2 seconds) while DJing. It's a very annoying situation.
The usage of CPU is ever less than 4%
Vista is the problem, I think.

The only thing I can say is: avoid Vista. I never spent so many times on a microsoft operative system since windows 95.
You can't have any control on it. It's much more difficolt to set your system properly.
After days and days of cleaning up I still have hesitations and glitchs in the audio output ...

The Indigo I/O driver I use is the latest released by Echo. It is made for Vista. Live uses this Asio driver when running.

At the present the situation is going a bit better because I unistalled the Side bar. Anyway, still I have problems.
