Re: autofade with keyhit (theatrical sound)
have a look at this thread, there is a picture lower down that shows dummy clips in action. you should be able to do an automated fadeup with another pair of tracks in the same scene. http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=58490 thanks onek! it seems to me this will work. i'll have to set...

Re: autofade with keyhit (theatrical sound)
You could achieve what you want in Sessionview also: for fade ins: the clip start and the start of the looping part can be different, so you can create a longer clip, for example 8 Bars. Let just the last 4 bars Loop and use the clipenvelopes to create a fade in durin the first 4 Bars. Fade out: Ju...

can a midi fade be assigned to an audio fade?
i have been trying to figure out how to get an autofade to an audio clip looping in session view. dummy clips can do it, but it doesn't seem easy. if someone can give me an example of an easy way to do it, then i'll believe it. a keyhit can be assigned to a midi fade, only it doesn't seem the midi f...

Re: autofade with keyhit (theatrical sound)
fishmonkey: yes, after becoming completely frustrated with trying to get something as simple as an automated fade with a button, i found qlab, which is made specifically for theatre cues, and works flawlessly. anamexis: here is the problem with dummy clips: i can assign as many clips to the one dumm...

Re: autofade with keyhit (theatrical sound)
I'm really sorry to be answering my own questions as I go along, but I did find out in the manual, page 267: 19.5.1 Programming a Fade-Out for a Live Set. I can get the loop to fade out, but I can't seem to figure out how to assign a keyhit (as in the computer keyboard) to do the fade out. I think i...

Re: autofade with keyhit (theatrical sound)
I have been looking through the manual, and can easily find how to do this within the Arrangement view, but I want to have it done in Session view, in a "live" situation...just to clarify.

autofade with keyhit (theatrical sound)
I have to do the sound next weekend for a community Shakespeare play. I would like to have an audioclip looping and then with a key stroke, fade that clip out and with another keystroke fade up a different audioclip. I guess the volumes can all be down and the keyhit can trigger the fades in and out...

Re: automated fade in fade out?
Hello folks! I have been trying to figure out how to do the below method of autofade, and can't quite get it. Also, please let me know if anyone knows a simpler technique (although this seems pretty simple, I just can't figure out how I would get the midi fadeout to control the volume of an audio cl...

autofade with keyhit (or link sliders) ((or both))
howdy folks! i was wondering if anyone knows if this can be done yet. i would like to be able to have the option of different types of fade ins and fade outs. i can use the automation envelope, but still that doesn't quite automate the process. the closest solution is Adam Jay's from awhile back, bu...

help
under the "help" pulldown menu, there is "lessons in live"
if you scroll down the lessons, at the bottom is "Audio I-O" and "Midi Controllers." The Audio I-O will walk you through adjusting your settings very handily.

most recent beta?
have you tried the most recent 7.0.2 beta listed in one of the first messages in the bugs and problems forum? with the 7.0.2 betas, ableton is systematically trying the fix major problems (i assume, as it seems that way in most of their messages). i'm sure you have tried raising the latency in your ...

midi causing dropouts/wavering and possible solution
hello folks. i thought that i'd put this bug out, even though i'm not sure of it, as i'm sure ableton won't be able to reproduce it, but maybe someone else might be having similar problems, as i am convinced it is a problem with live, and not something else. i'm using live 7.0.2b5 the dropout occur ...
