I use both when I play. For drumming, the padKontrol rocks. I use the Trigger Finger as a mixer of sorts where the pads just do simple on/off stuff. I didn't feel the Trigger Finger's response was reliable enough for quicker action.

I've got Apple Care but I've never had to use it.

Still, from what I've read from other people's experiences it sounds like it's better to have it than not. A lot of folks seem to use it at least once.

Even though I've never used Apple Care, I've been able to be a lot more confident about using ...

I'm actually considering going/moving there next year around April or May. After living in Japan I'm used to getting price gouged on everything! Is that a bonus? :D

My PowerBook G4 is rocking hard for almost 3 years now. I just want to upgrade for the necessary speed to keep up with Live 6, but I'll keep this one for other tasks.

Happy.

Edirol UA 101 on an Intel Mac

How do these hold up compared to using them on Power PCs? I'm about to upgrade from a PowerBookG4 and this has worried me for a while. I see there's a 2.0 Universal Binary on the Edirol site.

Thanks!

The hold button?! Genius! I've been trying to figure out how to use the pad as a Kaos Pad-like interface but same problem. I'll try it out!

Thanks here too!

Tempo Display

With the help of various great MIDI controllers I've freed myself from from touching the computer while playing. I stick it on a shelf under everything else and just play.

But, I've got to duck down and look at the tempo every time I want to change songs. This is because, 1) the MIDI controller I ...

Sticky Keys

Does anyone else use sticky keys? They're available in the System Prefs under Universal Access. Just love it. Maybe the first hour is tough when you're not used to it, but if you're going to start doing keyboard shortcuts this will save a lot of finger acrobatics.

Let me know what you all think ...

How would 64-bit support make life easier?

Half question, half feature request?

Would 64-bit not make EIC/sampler/operator load faster and enable us to have more going on at once? No?

October is just around the corner... ! :D

I work with a trackpad still... Thank god for sticky keys; my thumb might be out of commission completely otherwise.

They are pricey for sure. I'm holding off even considering these things til I see what's announced this week at WWDC.

One thing's for sure though, my PowerBook G4 doesn't play well with Live 6's new instruments or Operator if much else is going on.
