I just got a quad core i7 Mac (the one that boots in 64bit) and I'm having a hard time getting the Max presets to show up.
I've installed Max.. Ableton sees it but no plugins are listed.
I had it installed on my other Macbook and I looked to see where, for example, the Schwarzonator was stored and ...

Suggestions on an LFO plugin for grouped tracks?
I'm wanting to find a Max audio plugin that will allow me to oscillate a grouped bass track.
I'm trying to avoid having to write an automation for three different LFOs on three different instruments.
Just want to add a plugin to the grouped track that will give me my wobble:)
Thanks in advance:)

Thanks for the replies people:)

Re: Trying to figure out a good work flow with the APC 40
What I'm doing is creating different effect racks, say two on each channel, filling them up with effects and then using the <-- and --> to toggle between the different racks.
It works a lot better than scrolling through all the different effects.
I suppose I can try just adding all the effects I ...

Re: Midi dump with Akai MPD 24 not working
So the Ableton help says that before pressing midi 'dump' consult the manual for the device your using to make sure it can receive SysEx information.
The MPD manual says this:
SYSEX TX allows you to transfer Preset data from the
MPD24, including Controller Numbers, MIDI Channels and
various ...

Midi dump with Akai MPD 24 not working
Hey all;)
So the title pretty much says it all.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I have my Mpd 24 plugged into my Macbook.
I go to the midi preference in LIVE and select the MPD as my control surface and select the Mpd as the input and output device.

Re: Trying to figure out a good work flow with the APC 40
Alextronica,
I personally set my LIVE up like a four channel mixer.
Running each channel out of separate outputs of my sound card and into separate inputs on my mixer.
Since you have a sound card with 6 inputs and 8 outs I would run ch. 1 of the APC into ch.1 on your sound card and then out of

Re: Looping/auto looping in Ableton
Thanks Alextronica,
I didn't know you could midi map the "Position" but that should help a lot.
Do you know if you can map the loop length?

Re: Trying to figure out a good work flow with the APC 40
Thanks Chelemasty,
Ya.. I suppose mapping filters to the pan knobs is a good idea since you don't really need the panning option when playing live.
I will do that:)

Looping/auto looping in Ableton
Hello all,
I've been struggling with this issue ever since I started djing with Live.
I want to be able to be able to jump to different loops (4,8,16,32,64) in one clip via a midi command.
Is this possible without needing to type in the 'Loop Position'?

Re: Trying to figure out a good work flow with the APC 40
Thanks for the tip:)
I will check it out.
As for an external sound card.. I would suggest getting something with at least 4 outputs, even more depending on how many channels you use.
From there, you would select the sound card as your audio device in LIVE and turn on all the output channels.

Trying to figure out a good work flow with the APC 40
Hello all,
I just got the APC 40 and have been trying to figure out a good, not so complicated, work flow.
I find one of the biggest downfalls of the APC is that you have to select the track using the 'Track Selection' buttons to then be able to use the effect parameters in the "Device Control ...

midi - focusing on plug in your using
Hello all...
I've been setting up my Akai MPD24 and its working great.
The problem I am running into is that LIVE won't jump focus to the plug in I'm controlling with my controller.
For instance...
I'm playing a track on Track 1 and the focus (the highlighted track) is on Track 1.
I start ...
