some people are telling me that although windows 8 is a good platform and works well with ableton, the files from windows xp are just different and dont translate well, so trying to shift my projects from xp to 8 probly wont work..that sucks...and btw this is Live 8.2 somethin, not Live 9, i never ...

i figured what the hell and selected all the options...is it easier to find these tracks if they are freezed and flattened??

well thank you guys for the sympathy lol but what should i do? ive already done a search and it cant find any files at all...ive tried doing this many many times with two different flash drives and different projects...on occassion, the audio was there but if i collect all, save, pull the flash ...

Hi thank you but no, this only works on some of the projects, not even close to half of them...all of my live sets are 100% audio tracks, no outside sources whatsoever, and i "collect all" and saved each set to my Kingston flash drive, then loaded it into my newer pc, opened Live, and the tracks ...

transfering projects/ collect all and save?
hi all
Im trying to transfer all projects to a newer pc with windows 8. i have saved them to a jump drive and transfered them to the new pc, but most say "samples offline" ive read something about "collect all and save" is this what i need to do?

hi everyone
could someone give me a quick guide to installing plugins? I have one on my computer that shows up in Live's plugin section as a file (GSnap) but i cant drag it into the track or anywhere at all...what am i doing wrong?

how do you do it?? ive not found it in the manual...im working in arrangement view and i dont see a way to mute tracks

thanks man, ive seen tutorials on freezing and flattening but thats in session view, i only have used arrangement view and dont understand what freezing and flattening is..? also to further display my ignorance umm in arrangement view i cant see how to mute a track...

i have encountered another problem as i try to make the best of my Live Lite and an old lappy...im recording entire songs, guitar, vocals, piano...everything, im limited to 8 tracks with the lite version and running a 2 gig processor...so im bouncing audio tracks together in real time to ...

My dad managed a studio back in the 60's...the whole band recorded at the same time just in different rooms and they all had to nail it at the same time...editing meant cutting magnetic tape!
