Re: Issue With Recording into Ableton
To adjust this setting for macOS Sonoma and above:
Ensure an Audio Input Device is configured in Live's Settings/Preferences (Command+comma).
Click on the microphone icon in the macOS Menu Bar labelled "Mic Mode".
Make sure the Mic Mode is set to Standard.[/i]

Simpler - Can't play samples when in Slice mode
Hi all,
I'm not able to trigger any samples when I have Simpler in Slice mode. In Classic and 1 Shot, I can trigger samples fine from my MIDI keyboard, but in Slice mode, I see that Simpler is receiving MIDI info from my keyboard, but no samples play or are triggered. What gives?

Re: Can't open Live 9 anymore. Why??!
Glad I could help! I wouldn't count on Mac fixing anything though. Seems that they, and pretty much all software companies, want to force 64 bit down people's throats.
For good reason. 32bit is has been on the way out for 15 years and has been mostly dropped by devs and users in the last 8 ...

Re: Can't open Live 9 anymore. Why??!
Happened to me too. I am on OSX Mojave 10.14.6 using Live 10 mainly, but I also have some projects in Live 9 32 bit.
Thanks for the link to the fix. Hope Apple fixes this in a future update for Mojave.

SOLUTION!!
Turns out Mac once again did something shady and made my laptop only use 64 bit apps. Thanks Mac for another cluster fuck.
Anyone else with the same issue, go here for reason and solution:

Can't open Live 9 anymore. Why??!
Hi Ableton Live users! Has anyone have this happen to them? I'm trying to run Ableton Live 9 (still need to use it for certain plug-ins that are 32 bit), and all of a sudden I'm getting this message:
Live cannot be opened because of a problem.

Looking for a particular pack
Hi all,
I've installed tons of Packs recently on my studio computer. Now I'm home and am opening a session that uses a Pack I haven't installed on this computer. (I prefer to have Packs installed only on my studio computer since they take so much memory.)
I'm looking for a the Pack that has the ...

Re: SSD vs External Drive
Sounds like the best option!
Only have one SSD now. I'll be interested to see if there's any difference when I start calling up samples from there instead of my external.

Re: SSD vs External Drive
Hi,
Yeah they're pretty large samples for my Kontakt Library (Native Instruments) and Packs from Ableton Live. All together around 140GBs.
Think I'm gonna transfer them over to my SSD and see how it goes. I still will have almost 100GB's free on my internal.
Thanks for the advice, folks!

SSD vs External Drive
Hi all,
So I FINALLY got an SSD drive installed in my old Mac. Pretty old, in fact. 2007!
Until now I've had all my Live Packs, as well as memory clogging samples form Native Instruments, on an external hard drive. That served me well with my old drive, to not slow things down too much. But now I ...

Re: getting Waves to work in Live 9.7.1
Are you running 64-bit or 32-bit? Waves Central crashes 32-bit versions of Live, because Waves no longer officially supports 32-bit.
Waves tech support was able to send me one of the old Waves installers that got everything up and running again for me.
I'm running everything 32 bit....so shouldn ...

getting Waves to work in Live 9.7.1
:?
Hi all!
I've read about this on the forum, but I couldn't find a recent thread.
I just updated to the latest version of Live (9.7.1), and all my Waves plug ins crash Live. I know that Live doesn't support AU Waves, but mine are VST.
I've toggled the VST and Custom folders in preferences and ...
