I'm not good with boxing musicians in genres, but if you force me I'd say they play new world + electronic music ... Best to get in touch with them directly and chat!

Need Live musician in LA

A buddy of mine in LA is looking for a Live musician for his band to do some upcoming live shows and possibly collaborate further. The band has a record deal and is touring now. So he asked me to post here to see he can hook up with a Live musician in LA. You can email [email protected] to hook up ...

Can Live replace SFX for stage performance?

A buddy of mine asked me that question, but I don't know much about sfx (http://www.stageresearch.com/products/SFX.aspx), or if Live has been used for controlling sound effects and midi sequences for live stage performances. Specifically, is there a way to:

- initiate a pre-defined fadeout ...

A lot of us have been asking for this for a long time... so once again, Abe's, please, this feature is really missing and should be a natural extension of Live rather than having to come up with workarounds (like using two clips). I'm not going to prescribe how to best do it, as I trust the Abe's ...

Was quite disappointed to see the problem persists in 4.0.3. To top that off, even the 'exclusive arm' mode doesn't work when arming via midi. I hope this is all an oversight rather than some fundamental design flaw, like tying these global prefs to the 'means' by which a clip is selected or a track ...

Hmmm... for me it doesn't work even if record-enabled (on 4.0.1).

delete clip via midi

Crucial to be able to delete the most recently recorded clip (live looping) via midi (or the currently selected clip, provided that a related bug is fixed to select the clip being recorded when 'select on launch' is on).

clip not selected when triggered via midi

Turn 'select on launch' on in the prefs, trigger via midi to launch a clip, the clip plays alright, but is not 'selected', unlike when a clip is launched via mouse. This is especially a problem when recording loops in realtime and you want to delete the recently recorded clip.

There's an option in the preferences to select a clip upon launch. This will do what you need. If
you need to select a clip that isn't currently being recorded, trigger its play slot. When it starts
playing again (depending on what your quantization is), it will be selected (though in live 3.0.4 ...

Absolutely agree this is needed. How about a flexible midi mapper buit into Live itself to do what we now have to do with midi-ox/midi-yoke?

On a related subject, we also need a way to 'select' a clip via midi, say you recorded a new clip and you want to delete it, but the newly recorded clip is ...

Using the 'Gate' launch mode seems to fix it. I guess it's because the button acts like a 'note on' when pressed the first time (sending controller 70, value 127) whereby the light also comes on, and it acts like a note off (sending controller 70, value 0) when pressed again.

x-15 foot-controller anyone?

I'm trying to launch and stop a clip using the same button sort of like a toggle switch but can't get it to work. I've set the launch mode of the clip to 'toggle', but I have to press the button twice to actually toggle. Am I missing something?

Try Nuendo 32 bit float files. I haven't been able to read them; I think Live was complaining that they are corrupted. These were 44.1 files btw. I would assume you would have the same problem with 32bit files created in Cubase.

It's not so much about hearing the difference, than it is to be able to seemlessly integrate into existing 32bit projects. It's a must have, IMO.
