Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

I feel that when you are constantly being fed solutions you are taking your mindset away from making music and focusing more on the technological aspect of things. Of course these advancements in technology make it easier to control software and customize, but questions like these are only stopping ...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

There are to many limitations to music making these days, and technology seems to be the main player in this.
How so? I agree with the notion that too many choices can be an obstacle that prevents people from being productive and actually engaging in the act of making music. And technological ...

I would think it's the other way around, that people are increasingly paralyzed by too many choices as advancements in technology continue to remove limitations. I find Maschine to be the ...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

I don't see why you can't have both. IMO the lifespan of a midi controller is cut quite short by consumers. I mean lets look at the APC40. 3 years may seem like a long time, but I find it amazing that people are "over" the concept as soon as the next best thing comes out. The way I see it, PUSH is ...

Re: How can I achieve something like this?

Hey there Yamagong. Welcome to the forums :)

The best way to make really great music, is to avoid trying to copy others work. There is no problem with referencing other peoples music once you are learning, but its good practice to get creative on your own and try something new or different. One ...

Re: Long samples fading out

Thanks for the responses, sorted it.

I was just putting one note at the beginning of the clip to trigger the sample, I figured as it was set to not loop that it would play the entire sample to the end but no, it needed the note to be the same length as the sample.

Thanks.

I was just going to ...

Re: 150% CPU Load

I did try ending any background processes that I knew about and disabling my network; there was barely anything else using my CPU apart from Live at the time.

And perfect, I'll start freezing tracks that I'm not currently working on to save up some more CPU then. Thanks again.

Keep us posted and ...

Re: 150% CPU Load

Alrighty, thanks for the tips. That should definitely help me cut down the CPU load...it probably would've been a good idea regardless since my effects chains are a total mess most of the time.

I didn't realize midi used a lot of CPU too. Pretty much everything I do is in midi. Is freezing the ...

Re: 150% CPU Load

multiple instances of any effect will increase CPU load and take up more RAM. Your PC seems powerful enough to be able to handle these loads, but I would suggest keeping things a bit more simple with your projects and routing effects properly.

Parrallel effects (Reverb, Chorus, Delays) should all ...

Re: ableton 9 projects cannot be opened in ableton 8?

Hi,

I have saved a project in ableton 9 for a friend, but he cannot open it with ableton 8!

How do I save projects in ableton 9 so that a ableton 8 user can open it?

Thanks

Any software which is upgraded to a newer version will be able to open and host files saved from older versions, but not ...

Re: 150% CPU Load

Perhaps its the 4 instances of Ozone you have running, along with the 4 instances of fab filter you have.

Why you would need 4 instances of Ozone running on the master channel is beyond me. It is a fairly heavy vst to be running in the first place and your system should have no issue's running it ...

Re: NEED HELP - External Compressor for setup

When trying to figure out this kind of stuff, it's important to remember that audio flows like a one-way street. It can't go backwards, but it can go in circles (feedback loop). Also, Mackie's manuals are excellent at describing how their mixers work, and the best practices for the various setups ...
