Hey, gang. Sorry if this is an obvious question , but how exactly do you slice to midi based on transients (as opposed to warp markers) in Live 8? Does that take place automatically? I don't see an option for it and it's listed as a new feature.
This is like an annual exercise on this forum. People complain about features, Ableton adds features and charges for their work, then the CEOs come out and complain about Ableton's business model. Never fails.
In session view the envelopes are proportional to the set value. So if you'd like a filter to open and close, you have to set the cutoff freq to your max limit. 10000 hz for example. When the envelope is at 100%, the filter is open. At 0%, it's closed.
Hey, guys. So I'm trying to get back into Live after a break, and something is happening with clip envelopes that I don't get...namely, nothing is happening. I try to automate a control of two synths so far with no results. This is in Session View.

So what I'm trying to do is build up a collection of drum sounds. So lets say I have a layered snare that I created in a rack and I want to save that sound...what's the quickest and easiest way to do that? I've tried figuring it out on my own, assuming that it has something to do with "resampling ...

Actually I think that trying to sound like someone else is a good way to improve your drum programming. Listen to a drum track that you like and try to duplicate it. Then dissect what you did.
