Offsetting a looped midi clip's start point
When looping audio clips in session view, I can use the loop start and end markers to offset the loop start point/end point for parts that come in on upbeats (or any beat of the measure not on the 1) With midi clips however, this offsetting approach doesn't work since for a midi note to play a ...

Midi Clip Automation, Next Scene, Retain Previous State?
I can't figure out how to do the following:
I need to have a scene that uses clip automation to set certain parameters (soft synth parameters, chain activator states, etc.) and then those parameters remain when I trigger the next scene in the session view....currently, it seems the only way to do ...

Chain Selectors, Rack Activators, Real Time Midi+Processing
I am building my Live Set and doing all my production in Session View, and wanted to post the methodology I’ve come up with to tackle my goals, and see if anyone has any advice or solutions that I may be overlooking to make the process more efficient and easier to manage.
While some elements of my ...

Track Activator Automation - Troubleshooting
Live, my drummer uses an SPDS pad to control the "Track Activator/Speaker On" on 4 drum stems (Kick, Snare, Hats, Percussion)....He uses this to turn off and on certain elements when we jam (mute/activate)...

Re: James Holden's Group Humanizer
Thanks for the response. I am thinking the program is going to be more trouble than it's worth at this stage...looking into "Beatseeker" as well. Any experience with that one?

Re: Rendered Audio vs. Midi Synths and Plugins for Performance
Thanks mholloway, your insight is really valuable!
In regards to #1, how are you exporting the plugin instrument into a multi-sampler instrument? Are you using a program that samples each note automatically, or doing this manually? How do you find the resampled instrument compares to playing the ...

Re: Rendered Audio vs. Midi Synths and Plugins for Performance
How about using Third Party plugins, such as Soundtoys Echoboy/Decapitator, Softube Compressors, etc. Do I have to stick to Ableton plugins in order to avoid latency while performing on soft synths via a controller?

Re: Rendered Audio vs. Midi Synths and Plugins for Performance
Checking in to see if anyone else uses a combination of stemmed audio clips along with midi clips, soft synths and processing plugins in their live sets, and has any advice.
I'd like all my synth bass, rhythmic plucks/riffs (diva, ace, serum), and drum samples (drum racks or nerve) to be triggered ...

Rendered Audio vs. Midi Synths and Plugins for Performance
Thus far I have done all my productions in Logic, rendered the pre-mixed/mastered stems and dropped them into Ableton as audio clips to play as backing tracks for live performance (my project combines softsythns, sequenced drum samples and loops with live drums and guitar). However, I am interested ...

Has anyone successfully used this device?
I would like to use it to take audio input from a live drummer (1 overhead mic, 1 kick mic into my interface), so that the midi in my sessions responds to his natural fluctuations. I've installed the plugin and am working on figuring it out, though I ...
