OK, You just keep one track for the synth to play live, and the other is No Input so it has your MIDI. That might work.

I'm trying to make music instead of clicking the mouse all night.
The One thing I keep clicking over and over is MIDI INPUT: No Input, or keyboard.

My hands are on the synth keyboard and then I have to move over to the mouse and move to that little box to select input.
Is there a shortcut or better ...

I had Push 2 several years ago, got frustrated with it and sold it. Now I bought another Push 2 and Yamaha keyboard.

Great advice. Yes, you are right, it takes years to learn an instrument and perfect your sound. Practice every day is a requirement.

How do most people use Push?
It seems like everything I read about Push is people that are slicing, launching, capturing clips, layering tracks, or something else I don't understand.

I'm using Push like a piano keyboard to play my synth in the right key, so I don't have to learn all of the sharps ...

Found it !! Options, Settings, (Record, Warp & Launch) "Select on Launch" was On, change it to Off, problem solved.

Anybody else deal with this. Is there a workaround?

I'm playing Push2 with a guitar plug in on a Midi track in Ableton 12.
My set has one track for each instrument: Kick, Drums, Bass, Piano, Strings, Pads, and Guitar.

The Push plays the Guitar track, but only when it is highlighted with a mouse click at the top of the track.

I don't understand your set up, so this may not be any help.
I'm using Push 2 and a Yamaha MODX synth. I use the Push to trigger the synth so I can play scales mode on the Push.

The synth is connected to the computer by USB, and synth audio out is connected to the audio interface.

Yes! Quantization Menu right after the metronome. Was defaulted to 1/4 note. I changed it to 4 Bars.
Every clip is 4 bars so that should work for anything. Problem solved.

Thanks. Now it is fun to create more clips with slight variations and launch them in various order.

I use my Akai Mini to start and stop clips. To my surprise, it will launch a clip out of sync with the music.
All of my clips are 4 measures, drums, bass, keys, pads. When I launch a clip on the second measure, I expect it to wait until measure 1 to start.
But it starts on measure 3, then the chords ...

It appears that everything I click in is at medium velocity so there is a lot of room to change.

Velocity, OK that's the ticket. That may give me some options.
That is definitely worth experimenting with.

I am also going to try moving my monitors. Right now they are 6" off the floor under my desk.
I am going to move them out from under the desk, 6 feet from me. I may add a set of 5" monitors ...

When I am playing live, I could add more force. My fingers ae probably a big part of the problem.

Is there any way to add more velocity in Ableton MIDI data.
