Re: how do you improvise over a midi loop without recording the overdub?
It should work: 1. the recorded clip must be in PLAY-mode (green), that means the recording is finished! 2. track-record ON, monitor AUTO, you should hear your input signal on top of the loop! 3. when you press the clip record button (circle right beneath the transport buttons), the recorded clip be...

Re: how do you improvise over a midi loop without recording the overdub?
First, the track record arm button has to be on (that you can hear the input signal, monitor=auto). When you want to overdub into the clip, use the clip record button (circle right beneath the transport buttons). This toggles between play and record of the currently played clip(s) in the track(s), w...

Re: Windows Virtual MIDI
I`ve also tried LoopBe but experienced errors.
I use rtpmidi for sending midi data from LIVE over network to another PC with BIDULE (modular vst-host), very stable so far.
The setup of rtpmidi (on all PCs in the network) is not as easy as with loopmidi, but it`s well explained from the author.

Re: Windows Virtual MIDI
Yes! loopmidi. I`ve tried a few in the past.
it`s also 64 bit, and it works. Currently I have up to six virtual midi instances in my setup.
I`m also using the network midi driver (rtpmidi).

Re: Create tempo automation in session using LoopMidi
Hello again, I`ve found a video, which explains it very well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4T1Vv2RN_ew Except: in Preferences for the input you need only REMOTE, and the output only TRACK. This is another explanation: https://music.tutsplus.com/tutorials/quick-tip-tempo-control-automation-in-sess...

Re: Create tempo automation in session using LoopMidi
Hello, i`m using loopmidi for the same purpose, and it works for me. This is what I do (nearly the same as you did): 1. LIVE Preferences: Activate REMOTE-Input on port: loopmidi 2. LIVE Preferences: Activate TRACK-Output on port: loopmidi 3. Program the tempo indicator in LIVE (top left, next to TAP...
