I mainly use VST's and not Ableton's built in software instruments. I think I remember at one time, if I had a VST on track 1 and another on track 2, when I selected track two it would only show the VST on that particular track.

Right now though, when I select track 2 the VST on track one VST ...

All that being said. If the settings are in Ableton Live, can't I uninstall, then re-install Ableton Live and everything should be back like it was ...

Well, I was experimenting with using Push 1 as a midi controller outside of Live. Been playing w/ an app called Gridlock last couple of days (http://www.sigabort.co/gridlock.html) and it's been pretty useful w/ standalone Max...pretty cool application...but also pretty complex, at least for me it is ...

I need to rest my Push 1..clear all settings and start over. Is there a factory reset on this? I think I remember doing this at one time but maybe it's another controller I"m thinking of. :p

Resetting Live doesn't fix my issue...

Need Ableton Live 9 Standard so I can add Max For Live to my setup. Suite is okay as well but really do not want to pay much extra as this is mainly to add M4L.

Love Ableton/Push combo but I'd love to be able to use Push 1 as a controller for standalone application like Max 8 and also for standalone synths like Arturia's Pigments, which I just recently purchased.

That's interesting...never heard of LoopMIDI or LoopBe. One thing I forgot to mention in my post is that I'm using Rewire (should have mentioned done that).

I've been using Max 8 standalone to run/record audio from Max patches into Ableton Live. I've also been able to run Midi from Ableton back into Max patches....

After looking more closely, I agree. Plus 10 does seem better integrated with Max than Live 9. I think I'll simply wait to upgrade to 10 Suite later this year.
