Workaround
I have been working on this problem for a while (pops and clicks in rendered audio) and I think (HOPE HOPE HOPE) that I have an acceptable workaround until they make their rendering engine as efficient as Live 4.1.1's was.

Workaround
I think I found a reasonable workaround for pops and clicks...here is my latest exchange from Ableton who recommended more RAM, but I know some on this board are having this same problem with a gig of Ram so I wasn't satisified with that answer. Although I will commend them on VERY FAST replys to my ...

Defrag
I have recently done both (less than a week ago.) And, given the fact that I don't have the problem w/ 4.1.1 I don't think that any of my hardware has anything to do with it. I appreciate the suggestion...I will give it a try just in case.

Update
The "Load clips into Ram" workaround was only somewhat sucessful...there were still plenty of artifacts I found in rendered output after more careful listening.

Getting Closer
Hello,
Good question Alex, sorry I wasn't more clear. I mean with the same .wav file. As in, file abc.wav in 4.1.1 renders fine. file abc.wav in 5.0.3 (and beta 5.2b4) renders with pops and clicks. This is with same bpm on each als file...no effects/no plugins.
And when I typed this "output of a ...

How do I set bar's to Clip length?
Sorry if this is a dumb question...but I am trying to figure out how to adjust the amount of bar's to a set audio clip.
I have a 13 second clip that I want to be 4 bars long. I don't want to stretch, add silence or any other way adjust the clip (including change the tempo.) I just want to be able ...

To add silence to end (or beginning) of clip I place the clip in Arrangement View I drag mouse over the clip and whatever amt. of time before or after clip I want silenced, I then Consolidate clip (Edit -> consolidate) or hit Ctrl+J and the clip is saved with added time.

Thank you!!!
Stefan,
Thank you very much for answering my question.
Your developers do indeed deserve a vacation, I am just glad to know that the issue is not mine and that the software will eventually do exactly what I need it to.
