So I played this song I'm working on and one of its group tracks (the big percussion one) shows that, after playing the full song, its volume is at +5.56dB.
Thinking this was somewhat weird I rendered the group track and loaded it into Audacity where I figured out its volume was a very low -13.5dB ...

How does one play note pitches of an instrument of a certain track? I've looked in the manuals and on YouTube but I couldn't find any info on this.

I solo'd a track from my song and the peak level clipped at 9.85dB in design view, yet when I rendered the same track to .wav and looked at it in Audacity, I figured out it's only -5.1dB (by normalizing until I didn't see any change any more pre and post that action).

Say, in session view, you want to play clip 1, then play clip 2 using Follow Action.
If clip 1 is of an unusual length, eg 5 beats in 1 bar, its clip's quantization settings don't work properly.

I found out how it works: when playing a clip using Follow Action, the currently playing clip will play according to the Quantize setting of the NEXT clip it'll be playing!
So if you want to play a clip with a length of 5 beats you have to set the next clip you want to play to Quantize "None ...

The global quantisation is definitely acting weird for me too. Basically more than 1bar never gives me what I expect.

I may have targeted the wrong field.
It's the Clip Quantization setting in the Clip Launch panel that doesn't work at all.

This is very true, I've got a song that sounds perfectly ok with zero distortion and not too low in volume (so properly gain-staged) when exported as one master .wav file, but when I export the tracks and check them in Audacity I get volumes of -5.5dB (which is ok imo) but also -10dB ...-15dB ...

When I choose "1 Bar" and play another clip, it plays it after only half a bar, so it does the same as if one chose "1/2 Bar".

Wouldn't it be a good idea if Live automatically saves the current set as a backup in the background every 5 minutes or so? In the event of a crash, when you restart, you will be asked whether you want the backup (maximum 5 minutes old) or the last version saved by the user.
