Just saw the ad of Live4 in german 'Keyboards' mag. Very cool picture, funny claim. I really like this black style.

hi hugo, I'm glad that this a solution for you.

Concerning the two soundcards I still have my doubt if this works in a stable
manner. As both live sessions use the same preferences(?) I'm afraid of conflicts. Maybe a test with two sessions located at different paths on your
harddisk solves that ...

My last question is about an External Midi Controller (the same with the keyboard).

You're lucky Hugo (and other' probably, too)...I didn't believe it but it really
works. Live4 crashes, but with 3.0.4 you can do the following:

- run two instances of live simultaneously on one machine (PC ...

Are you sure you can do that? [...] Does this get solve with that application?

indeed, it works. you can try with the demo version (cause one virtual cable
is enough). I can run two instances of live at the same time, hear both
outputs and can start/stop them independantly. of course you can ...

you can run two instances of live on the same PC and therefore
load two sets at a time (or in exchange).

how it works:

- get Virtual Audio Cable [Ntonyx] and install at least one
virtual cable (if you have multiple outputs you'll install more and
mix the streams outside of your PC (e.g. mixing ...

change the "time offset" value in the small FL-window (appears upon clicking the FL tool-icon in live's effect/synth tab). you can drag the value to set it to 0.

if you own reaktor (4) you can build a delay with the "Unit Delay" module.
it delays the audio-signal by one sample period (1/samplerate). with a smart
configuration you should be able to delay the audiosignal by a requested
value (input via knob or value-field).

Re: Old Skool Live Trick

jammed the Position and Length of the loop on top of the waveform with mouse

ever tried to automate this with a mouse-recorder? it's fun and can inspire
you when tired of seeking an interesting groove/srcub by your own.
you can also use the mouse-makro with other clips to produce random
warp ...

I remember a Synthedit(?)- VSTplugin doin' it. It worked as a tape-player and is not a VSTinstrument (works in ableton live)). At least you can play/pause that sample (even mp3 was possible imho) as you need it.

Jumping to different startpoints will be a prob. anyway, try kvr and ask there ...

Re: The most inexpensive controller for Live!

Man I got the Evolution X-Session

me too. I bought it in a bundle because of the a.m. cross-fader and the buttons (I already have a Doepfer drehbank).

I'm a bit disappointed about the cf (toy-ish feeling) but the rest works fine, especially the knobs have a surprisingly good movement compared to ...
