Re: Playing live with friends in different house

Yeah that would be cool. The only way you could do that is over a vpn, but link in live will not work on a vpn. I would imagine latency online would cause some problems as well with timing and how you would stay in sync with each other. Think online gaming and ping. That delay would trash your jams ...

Big 3 Step Sequencer mod request

Hello,

In the Max for Live Big 3 pack that comes with Ableton, there is a step sequencer. This plug in is started and stopped by the transport control, or Midi Clip.

Is there any way to modify this so that it can be triggered by note midi on and off? I'd really like to be able to start the ...

Re: Lock pitch of midi clip

Thank you for answering.

To clarify, I assign the clip to trigger via a midi key range on the keyboard, say from c1 to c5. When I play the clip it changes in pitch based on the key I play. I want it to play the original notes in the midi clip no matter what key I press.

Cheers. :D

Lock pitch of midi clip

Is it possible to lock the pitch of a midi clip so that no matter what the incoming midi note number is, the pitch remains the same?

Are there any arpeggiator plug ins that will do the same thing?

Re: So, these new MacBook Air machines...

In my experience, and since I build computers, replacement of the stock tim, thermal interface material, can improve thermal throttling considerably.

Adding a cooling fan pad under the laptop will help with that as well.

Too bad water cooling is not a standard on laptops these days. Little ...

Re: So, these new MacBook Air machines...

Ok, so i7 is worth the upgrade and cache does make a difference. Compare benchmarks between the 2 processors and decide for yourself, but get the best mac in your budget. Intel also has other manufacturing variables from i5 to i7 that make a difference. Also try to get the latest gen i7 which should ...

Re: So, these new MacBook Air machines...

This is my opinion only. And the old saying about opinion stands true as always.

This would be a much better choice for your aproxmite budget, and have a much longer usable life.

Re: Lighting Control For Newbie...Any Advice?

Look into a midi to dmx converter like this one.

https://www.amazon.com/DecaBox-MIDI-to-DMX-Converter/dp/B00N36JQG2

Search on you tube for " use abelton to control dmx."

This is assuming your lights have dmx dimmer packs which most modern lights do. You will see an xlr input on your dimmer pack.

Re: Troubleshooting: Audio cracks after some time working on a project

Are you using an audio interface? If you have wi fi on, disable the device itself from device manager and see if you still have pops, clicks Download a free program called latency mon, and run it, then post the results here.

Re: 2 same midi controller (akai)

This is a shot in the dark. Set each controler to a different midi channel from within the controller themselves. Then set abelton to receive on the channel that the each controler is transmitting on. One controller on channel 1 and the other on 2 for example.

Midi Clip

Hi all. Thought I had this taken care of but would really appreciate your help.

I created a midi clip in step mode. I used midi map to assign a key range of notes on the keyboard to play the midi clip. My hope was it would play the original notes entered into the step sequence, no mater which key I ...
