thanks, 2 USB ports sounds a bit minimal if I'm going to shell out

Due to USB instability I need to upgrade from my HP Windows Laptop to a Macbook
Budget is about £1.2K
DAW is Ableton Live 11
Which one?
refurb or new?
Ive read somewhere that the new M1 powered Macs are crashing with Ableton

I think this is possibly a laptop issue but Ableton fails to recognise my Lauchpad MK2 (or Launchpad Mini - same problem) and the laptop says Device not recognised
Sometimes unplugging and re-plugging the USB cable (sometimes into different ports) does the trick but most times not
Other devices ...

thanks they look pricey! Dont have a big budget which is why the Zoom U24 looked kind of OK

I dont have a very complicated rig
just laptop (Live 10 Suite, windows 10 64 bit) , launchpad mini and launchkey 37
Every time I boot up these devices (Launchpad and Launchkey) are not recognised, I have to unplug usb and reconnect a few times to get it working

I can't seem to get it to function proprrly and sometimes on loading a track get the message that Vocal Rider isn't compatible.
I can go into write mode on Vocal Rider and then record in Ableton arrangement view.

Just upgraded my MIDI keyboard from an Akai LPK25 to a Novation Launchkey 37 MK3
Thing is the Launchkey is way quieter than the LPK25, the response is much quieter, I notice it in all the songs I am making
