Why wouldn't it. Jus use the ASIO drivers. I use Live 4 all the time with two Creamware cards.

But if you mean using Creamware cards in XTC mode (using the effects as VST plugins), I've no idea as I never use that.

I hope Live 5's freeze option will create plain wave file in the project's directory, so you could use freeze as an export option.

Yeah, variable slopes are cool, but I think that conflicts somewhat with Abletons K.I.S.S. paradigm.

Not that I think I will ever need audio files that big, but is that limit because of FAT32? If so, could one use bigger files when using NTFS?

I guess I'm still within your strict 10 minutes limit

well, I think your harddisk is the limit for the length of a clip. Assuming you're recording at 44.1 Khz mono, one minute of audio takes about 5 Megabyte, an hour 300 Megabyte and a full day 7,5 Gigabyte, etc.

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your answers. I guess my ears fooled me, because I thought to hear a somewhat lineair decay and release slope. But maybe I should have added that to my original post that it ocured most to me with Impulse and Simpler. Although I also own Operator, I still haven't played ...

Question about envelopes in Ableton instruments

Hi,

I wonder what kind of curve is used for the envelope generators in Live's build-in instruments. Although I very much like these intruments (and use them a lot), I'm not so pleased with the envelopes. To my ears they sound rather dull and my guess is that's because they have a lineair curve. A ...

you can try pluggo. besides it is a collection of VST/AU plug-ins, you can convert you're own max/msp patches into pluggos. if you're on a pc you'll have to wait a few months for pluggo as the beta will be released soon.

max/msp 4.5 released

this update has lots of new features like scripting (via java and javascript), new oscillators and spectral processing modules.

however, the most exciting new feature for us live users is probably rewire slave mode. this means that max/msp can be tightly integrated with live 4.0, since max also ...

i think it's not very convenient that you have to zoom to set the grid to smaller settings. for example, if you just want to quantize a bunch of notes to 1/32s, you have to zoom just so that you can quantize with that setting.
