If you could post a screenshot of the device chain that includes Surge, and perhaps also a screenshot of the External Instrument instance that's routed to it, that would be interesting to see.

I contacted Positive Grid's support, they told me it's an issue on Ableton Live's end. Ableton's support tells me that it's still not fixed and that the workaround is to kill the BIAS FX2 processes, but that is incredibly annoying and takes more time than just restarting Ableton Live.

Try opening the Ableton Project files in Live Lites browser, you might be able to drag the tracks in one by one into a new project.

Thank you, it helped. It was still arduous to arrange it everything as before and tweak everything, but at least I have the clips back.

I have used the trial version of Ableton Live 11 and created a few projects. Now when I try to open them in my downgraded version (I use Lite) it says that some features aren't available, like "Take Lanes" for example.

The problem is that I cannot save the projects after "taking out" those features ...
