In my setup it is the other way round.
I get massive jitter when using USB-MIDI on my device but quite stable results when I route it over the MIDI port of the audio interface and its proprietary driver (RME UCX). Though then I get problems with the MIDI clk/MIDI notes and sending larger SysEx ...

Re: Whats the point?
- For your device backend, I guess you are aware that, when you click on "Patching Mode" in the bottom of the Max window, you get the editing window which practically is as large as you want.

No, it's not a lottery.
Tell this my NI Traktor Audio 10 interface :D Does not run at all on my destop PC in none of the USB ports. And on my laptop it just runs on one USB port (but quite stable then). Else I get horrible crackling, nevermind the buffer size, deactivated drivers etc etc. In ...

Re: sending SysEx through midiout causes other midiouts to randomly stop
Also, there is no midi clock interfering? That's an issue I have if configured the Minilogue the wrong way. Though with larger SysEx blocks and not small messages like above.

Re: sending SysEx through midiout causes other midiouts to randomly stop
Bit late and have not 100% soaked up your issue.
Have you tried sending on another channel?
Also, is your SysEx message correct? I know that wrong messages tend to hiccup Ableton or the Midi HW device.
The message 240 125 247 seems to be a bit short for me. But I'm not an expert expert and a don ...

Re: GPU acceleration on Windows
No, it's not,
Did you check? You can see it in the task manager (ctrl+alt+del) when you run Ableton Live, first page (Processes) under Apps. Click on the arrow of the Ableton Live Application and you should see e.g. "GPU 0 - 3D" under GPU model, indicating that it's using HW acceleration.

"small user base."
Yeah, and when big companies always use this as an excuse it won't change much and user base will stay small (or takes ages to grow).. Because what shall the "standard" user base do if their software is not running on Linux. They hardly have a choice. Classic chicken - egg ...

But ... Peripherals and drivers must fit. The latencies are the point! You can have a cutting-edge Windows computer with extreme computing power - but the latencies are catastrophic, which means that it can't be used as a DAW.
Thanks for the reply!

Re: Live 12 on the new Ryzen AI Zen 5 CPUs
Hi
and could you find ways to improve the performance on the devices with the new AMD CPUs?
Or anyone else with good or bad experience of those devices in conjunction with Ableton Live?
Need to get a new laptop as well and think about getting one with the new Ryzens.

Re: Any chance of getting the old browser categories back?
I’m a bit wary of customizing a DAW too extensively, given the risk that one day I might need to reinstall everything unexpectedly, which could mean losing a lot of work. I prefer a workflow that works well straight out of the box.
I guess, this often also is kinda Abletons design philosophiy ...

Re: Any chance of getting the old browser categories back?
To get a bit the old feeling/workflow back. What would be e.g. when there is the option to:
- Place one filter category (e.g. Devices) vertically (between the main categories (All, Sounds, Drums ...) and the Filter/file window.
- With one tag in each line
- Arrow keys for jumping left to right ...

Re: Any chance of getting the old browser categories back?
I can't add much to what "qub" has already said; this new browser is just such a bad joke, and the tagging system is just as useless for organized producers. Anyone who structures their samples neatly in Live and generally on the computer not only doesn’t benefit from the new browser, but is ...

Thanks for your feedback. We understand the need for this.
In the meantime, have you tried combining search with filters?
Type in your search term, then open the Filters view and select Creator|User → This will then show only results user created and non-Ableton content
Please let me know if ...
