It’s not possible to do this on a knob-by-knob basis with an external synth unfortunately. It’s either delete all automation per clip or nothing at all.

As you say, automation for muting/muting stuff is sub par without both a per track and per clip “delete automation” function.

I do achieve what you say by live recording automation on dry/wet, (where the effect has a dry/wet) which is clunky AF.

So if you tap one of the drum pads (which had just a simpler and no audio effects), you now just see nothing in device view?

Or is it that after talking drum pad, you see simpler in device view, but only one page is accessible (I.e. you can’t click on simpler again and see the expanded pages)?

Hmm before the update I got the latency issue (laggy, but midi still worked) after about 40 mins of using rhe push with an external instrument.

Haven’t actually tested since updating toe 12.1. Will do so tomorrow and report back.

lol this confused me too (I always used to use the long push to arm a track).

It’s been changed to “double clicking” the track.

A few days in, I actually much prefer the double click than the long push.

Yes it does - straight out the box. All the Novation stuff works with P3SA from what I can tell

So I just updated to Ableton Live 12.1 and unfortunately the Script for Fader Fox EC4 is broken:

"Faderfox_Universal_2 control surface script is not compatible with the current version of live"

I've notified Fader Fox support.

But you can still manually map the controls and save them.

Guys this was driving me absolutely batty

Its really easy to miss : the 'fixed length' button toggles between on and off if you tap it ( it lights up ) .
On hold, you select an option, but you need to be aware of whether its on or not!

None of the new functionality in 2.1 is in the online Push manual. Kind of a miss there.


I find the manual a miss in general. Even when updated there feels like there's loads left out. It doesn't go into any detail of each instrument's implementation on Push compared to Live, for example ...

Especially Rhythmic Steps, which has a dedicated Push layout/mode.

Rhythmic Steps is really fun to use in Push Standalone mode

I dont assume they are certain to add 3rd party VST support, there are a number of reasons they might not. Including perceptions, if such things tempt more users to run too much heavy stuff taht negatively affects their impression of how powerful the Push 3 is. There are other considerations too ...

How do you configure the encoders to send MIDI CCs of one's choice to external gear connected to Push 3? In standalone mode.

I see 'CC Control' in MIDI effects and pitch and modulation work but setting up the other encoders seems incomprehensible. I see the 1-8 map and 8-16 map buttons but that ...
