hey guys, slightly off-topic but... have you been able to use Launchpad just fine with v 8.3?
I have updated both Automap and Live yesterday and Launchpad looks dead to me ...

Re: editing the autoassign of efx/plugins ( takeover mode )
Why not make an instrument rack as the first item in your chain, and map the 8 macro knobs to the parameters you want to control. That way, when you select a track, the blue hand is automatically on the instrument or effect rack and you can just start turning knobs and control only the parameters ...

Re: Automation Envelopes using Kontakt 4
Well, guess I sorted it out after a couple of hours. Apparently "Configure" works as long as I go to the "Auto" tab in Kontakt, choose a host parameter and drag it to what I want to affect. Phew!

Automation Envelopes using Kontakt 4
Hi guys,
I bought Komplete 7 a couple of months ago and only started using Kontakt now. I am impressed with how hard it is for things to work, compared to the other VSTs like Massive. But obviously I know this is my fault! :)
I have this really cool track that I would like to have some automation ...

Thanks for the awesome feedback guys! Must be that AIFF size limit then, pretty sure it is.
I will record in 16bit from now on, not the end of the world really but glad to have an explanation now!

Ableton recording limit?
Hey guys,
I have decided to use Ableton to record my latest mix, so basically the audio went from Ableton on my MacBook Pro to my Ecler Evo 5 via Firewire and back to a channel in Ableton that would record the whole thing.
I was surprised that after about 45 minutes of recording, it suddenly ...

Re: Live 8 and its resources
I can't answer the question about the interface because I don't know, but I can say that I had that exact same MacBook Pro with Suite 8 and Komplete 6 and the only time I approached that kind of CPU usage was with multiple instances of Kontakt or Reaktor. So the 50% with 4 instances of a Reaktor ...

Live 8 and its resources
Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to the whole music production thing, although I have been DJing for almost 10 years.
I bought a Macbook Pro (the 13' inch version, from 2009, C2D 2.66Ghz with a 500gb 7200rpm drive) strictly for music and was surprised with how fast it reaches the 50% of CPU usage. Granted ...

Re: Don't Buy A Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid Drive!!!
That HDD looks like a great deal at first but many users have been having problems. I want to buy a Macbook Pro this x-mas and get a fast 500gb drive but apparently this one is just too risky, especially after a month or so (which is weird- most people in the forums say they get more and more ...

Should I use EQ8 instead? Or are filters really the best options in your opinion?MPGK wrote:Keep in mind EQ3 tends to color the sound. If that's what you want though, it's all good.
I am happy with the effect, but I don't mind creating a better one!

Re: The Pioneer EFX Delay/ Freq Kill effect- How?
Um yeah... read the manual if you don't know how to use Send and Return tracks, I guess... :?
It's not that big a deal. My way to do this would actually be, as S4racen suggested, to use Multiband Compressor. Put that on Return track A and solo out the Frequency band you want to play around with ...

Re: The Pioneer EFX Delay/ Freq Kill effect- How?
Thanks guys. I guess I'll have to figure out how to use sends since I don't want to affect the original track... I just want to play around with the effect on a separate channel or something like that. I saw the quantizecourses.com video, and while informative, it wasn't really what I am looking for.

The Pioneer EFX Delay/ Freq Kill effect- How?
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if it is possible in Live to create an effect similar to the Pioneer EFX-500/1000 , where one can apply a delay/echo to just a certain Frequency.
Basically I guess we'll have to sidechain delay and EQ3. That way I could kill any freq I'd like. The thing is, so far I ...
