Right now I have a M-Audio Firewire Solo, which to me sounds pathetic. I want an audio interface that will be suitable for playing large clubs / home studio. I will use 2 laptops, external hard drive, and midi controllers. I am not DJing, just performing my composed electronic music. Obviously ...

Settings: Buffer Sizes, Sample Rates, etc.
Sample rate is set at 44100, is this normal?
do I need to monitor this based on different production modes?
Latency Buffer Size: 2048, when recording Audio samples I lower this down to 300-600. Should I be doing this or how could I improve?

Arturia Analog Factory problems
I just got this with my Novation SL Remote Keyboard.
This program runs separately in the background to Ableton.
First off, the levels alway defaults to an extremely high voume each time you switch sounds. Can this be corrected?
The main problem is when I try to play the keyboard into a track on ...

Auto Fader trigger/controls
I would like to hi-lite a section of an audio/midi clip and make it fade up/down etc. Where is this command? Is it an extra plug-in? Can I control this with a Midi controller/trigger?

Thanks for the input, I think Macbook Pro but...
How much Ram is necessary? or Speed?
Will the basic 2.2ghz, 2GB Ram be sufficient for production and performance?
Would it be helpful if I hook up my old G4 Powerbook 1ghz 1GB Ram to help manage the CPU load? How would I do that?

I actually use the M-Audio firewire and a firewire external hardrive.
Normally I either chain link the M-Audio through the External hard drive or leave the hard drive out.
Does it slow down the M-Audio firewire interface if I link it through the external hard drive?

Although that sounds like a great deal. I have a 15" monitor at the moment and would not want to make it any smaller.

What is necessary computer power? (Mac)
Currently, I have a PowerBook G4 1ghz, 1GB SDRAM Mac Os 10.3.9. When I run Ableton, as soon there are more than 2-3 tracks, it begins to overload the CPU usage. I perform and compose electronic/rock music with Live.
