the most effective way is to turn grid off and draw notes manually, simple and not that complex to do, thus you'll have random velocity, length and slightly unsync'd notes; if you use impulse also randomize pan, pitch (just 2-3%) and filter cutoff if you're using it..
p.s. i use this process also ...

i have the x-session pro and had the same problem at the beginning, what I did is trying several times to click on different points of the crossfader line and then assign till I hit the right point and had it working smoothly; so I guess it's just a matter tryouts (at lest it was for me)

I hope this is not a stupid question (I checked the manual but couldn't a solution), but is it possible to automate the selection of presets for VSTs? E.g., I have a different preset for a guitar track's VST EQ for verse and chorus and would like to automate switching between the two.

hello, I have this stupid problem: I just can't succeed in figuring out how the heck to set up a vsti-arpeggiator sending midi signals to a simple vsti-synth.. or at least I suppose that is the way to do such a routing.. sorry if I'm wrong..
