....
Also the upcoming Novation Nocturn has endless encoders but I'm not sure if they're detented (I hope not).

Just came back from the Musik Messe and the Nocturn has not detented encoders. The guy on the booth said they should finally be available in about two weeks. I'm waiting...

Any word ...

Sorry to ask, Mac Newbie here....
Are you waiting Rev B to fix some problems on MBP or simply because you expect more CPU power?
I'm on the edge of buying and still can't decide what to do...

This is probably wise, if it is your studio computer. However, if you're on the move the 13" is probably the better choice.

Yes, I have seen them both live and decided the pro was not so much heavier, as it is quite thin also. I can easily carry it around and feels a lot less bulkier than my ...

One huge difference for me is screen size and resolution. So much that this alone has decided me to go for the MBP. I know 1280x800 is enough for most things, but I can't live with the 13'' size as it will be my primary (and only) computer. And no, I don't like having to attach an external monitor.

Actually there is CC automapping and banks of parameters, mackie control-style, but it is a shame there is no LCD feedback, you just have to go around blind trying things out, which defeats the purpose of automapping for me. Logic and Reason's implementation is soo much better with LCD feedback ...

Korg had the "good sense" of putting in rotary encoders with the controller, which would, when designed by humans, mean that jumpy values could be avoided quite easily.

Korg however decided that this functionality, no matter how basic, should only be available in what's called "Native Mode ...

I promised myself to look for a keyboard before tried Live 6... but after reading some of you... i cant wait :D

mmm... guys i think i'm gonna buy it

Size is not a problem, but i think is important that:

1. it carries trigger pads (impulse and drums triggering, in general), and

Yeah, but you're limited to what text you can use with the Korg stuff. You can define your own text with the Novations.

That is irrelevant in native mode (similar to automap mode) as the host tells it what to display and it can be anything. Otherwise, yes it is limited to certain parameters in ...

Often when people talk about minikeys they seem to forget there is a big pro about them, which is very important for my setup: it's the only way to have three octaves in a compact size. In fact you get three octaves in the same space as a two octave keyboard, and definitely two octaves don't suit my ...
