Re: Download older versions of Live
i`m not sure, but i think, that would do you no good!
with 8.2, they had a new handling of files (or sets...),
so even if you delete your installation, and re-install an older version prior to 8.2.x,
you would probably face problems with your library or such.
what kind of issues do you have?

Re: Drums, drums and more drums?
you already have drumracks to your disposal,
you have simpler, impulse and instrument racks, right?
then, having RMX, is also a nice weapon.
find the one that suits you best,
that should do the trick.
just load some samples and try to set up a reasonable amount of drumracks,
impulses or ...

Re: Ableton VS Maschine PT 2 23 songs in 46 days
oh, yes - sounds familiar to me!
a good way of "recycling"!
with some distance, you are able to judge better, i think.
i then decide what`s worth to keep, deleting the unwanted pieces,
and save them as a new project, into another "new" folder.
then, i delete all the old stuff.

Re: Help me Ableton community you're my only hope (Mastering)
it`s really hard to mix and master and have it sound good on any system.
and within 10 months, you won`t get there.
it will take you 10 years to become a good mastering engineer,
spend hours every day in a studio, get to know your speakers and the tools,
and you need to have a good pair of ears ...

Re: the dock on a macbook
if serato makes it hide, then it has some kind of "full-screen-view",
as in video-players or such.
live doesn`t do this.
so either, you hide the dock, and let it only be visible if you "touch" the bottom,
but that brings it up unwanted, sometimes, i know.

Re: Racks
i think, it`s always best to just add one fx after another,
you learn how to use them, and if something very nice comes out of this,
just select them all and group them, so you can save them as a "preset rack".
sounds lame, but still the best and more original then using pre-defined sets of other ...

Re: Different drum rack settings for each scene
i don`t really get what you are asking,
but one thing first:
if you want to really use different drum racks in one track, that is not possible.
one track can only hold one instrument, if you load another one,
it`s replacing the first.
if you are able to set up different pads for each track you ...

depends on what music you play,
and what the pa is like.
but i would also go for an EQ, Compressor and Limiter at the end.
if you have some nice ones, use them,
if not, the buildt-in EQ/comp/limiter in live are very good, i think.

Re: Missing plugs in Ableton 8
well, if you say you had your VST in a separate folder,
point ableton live to that, and it will "see" the plugins installed there.
for the drumrack, simpler, impulse:
if you see the fx, double-click on the slot in the browser that displays your fx.
the first tree should be instruments, open it ...
