Ableton's 30 day free trial eliminates any reason [other than that you are just too cheap to pay for it] to use a crack version of Ableton.
If you really cannot afford it, as opposed to just being too cheap to pay for it, there are open source, albeit lesser quality, alternatives.
The biggest ...

Re: Poll: Did You Use A Crack For Live Before You Bought It?
[quote="Angstrom"]it's interesting that the people who voted in the 'I used/still use a crack' options in this and the older poll - it seems that 96% of initial crack users go on to purchase the application.

Re: Audio dropouts - my audio interface, full HD or what?
To add to that list:
1) If your computer supports more RAM, there is no good reason not to max it out nowadays with RAM being so cheap. More RAM makes more of a difference than a faster CPU.
2) Everyone knows about experimenting with audio sample size. Smaller means lower latency but also means ...

Re: Audio dropouts - my audio interface, full HD or what?
Macbooks with only 4G ram are going to have trouble meeting Ableton's needs. Things go south once you start adding midi tracks containing instruments with heavy CPU needs. I have read a lot of tips suggesting various ways to improve the situation. But my perception is that you will just be pasting ...

Re: Buffer Size issue Ableton Live 9 64 bit
I'll start out by admitting that my computer is CPU and RAM challenged. I have a 2007 Macbook with a 4G ram limit --- only 3 of that is used and I doubt that more than 2 G of that is used efficiently. The CPU is a 64 bit Intel, and Snow Leopard supports 64 bit, but my boot up kernel only supports 32 ...

[quote="Akshara"][quote="Trypset"]Starting to lean towards MBP actually....
Keep forgetting its possible to add a monitor later....would be easy to make a "dock" of some sort to hold the MBP while at home.
From that list are there any MBP which are more powerful for the price than the iMacs ...

Correction: my software is still up for sale.

For Sale - Ableton 8 boxed upgrade & EIC 2 $150 USD
No, this low price is not a typo. I need to sell all my Ableton software ASAP to make the rent. This will be an insanely great deal for someone in the South Florida area. EIC 2 is licensed to me, you will not just be getting the demo DVDs. You will get the box sets [box, DVDs, manual] for Live 8 ...

Re: midi pedal board for under $150?
I am surprised that some think the fcb1010 is not reliable. I bought one at the same time I bought Ableton Live about two years ago and have never had any problems with it.

Re: Live 8.08, unselectable display & crash
I just upgraded to 8.09 last night. So far, I have had no crashes. I'llk go back to usign right-mouse-button-clicks and see if things go back into the toilet.
Steps without a right-mouse-button click:
1) Left-click current location of clip to be copied.
2) Use Live menubar to copy clip.

Re: Live 8.08, unselectable display & crash
I began seeing similar problems after I upgraded to Live 8 from 7. I did not open a support ticket because I also upgraded my MAC from Leopard to Snow Leopard at the same time and was not sure which was the cause.
Since you are still running Leopard, apparently the problem is due to something with ...

Re: Export Audio problems with Line 6 Pod Farm plugin
I was able to isolate the problem to the AU version of the Pod Farm plug-in. Try using the VST version, instead.
