How do you make a pitched rolling kick sound from this video
Hi guys,
So I saw this video from Flume's Jakarta tour and I heard this crazy subby kicked pattern and I'm really curious how to go about making it in ableton. This comes in at 29 sec mark and it sounded like the kick was rolling and was pitched around a bit. Does anyone know of any video tutorials ...

Re: How to record fixed length of midi notes?
Its says a lot about drum machine which I already know but I can't seem to find the information regarding recording notes for a chord. Maybe I missed the information but can someone point me to the right direction cause I'm pretty sure 498 doesn't talk about live recording for chords.

How to record fixed length of midi notes?
Hi,
This question is regarding recording midi notes with Ableton Push. I like to know if there is a way to srecord the notes automatically to a certain strict length instead of just random lengths that depend on how long its being held. I find that I often have to go back to the piano key to align ...

Re: How Do you Fix Phasing Issues?
Fair enough thanks guys. From what I gathered so far and from what I tested with, most tracks seem to peak around -1 anyways especially Skrillex tracks and many electro tracks. So I'm gonna take what other people say who advice me to check my mixes with a grain of salt. I simply wanted to make my ...

Re: How Do you Fix Phasing Issues?
Thanks 3dot. I've used the utility and inverse phase various samples to check and I've tried phase rotation but all to no avail until I lowered band 2 width of the ozone 5 stereo imager which are the upper low frequencies by -40%. But when I do that, obviously I lose perceived volume and just doesn ...

Re: How Do you Fix Phasing Issues?
Thanks for the quick reply. I know where the phase correlation meter is in ozone 5, but is there a phase-shift feature in there too that I can use? Also am I missing something here? How come when I test certain tracks by Skrillex and some Electro House producers, certain parts of their tracks are ...

How Do you Fix Phasing Issues?
Hi Guys,
Currently, I am using Ableton Live 9 and I just started using ozone 5 Advanced for my mastering needs. However, while listening to my mix with the stereo image, I noticed that most of my syns made with NI Massive are going into the -1 region of the vectorscope. It is clearly phasing and I ...

Re: Quick question on Ableton's compressor
Thanks for your explanation. I didn't know that sending signal to the return track can make things louder even if no processing was done. Cheers

Re: Quick question on Ableton's compressor
Cool thanks for the info. Just one more thing. If there is no gain reduction meter showing, does it mean the compressor is not working at all? I tend to group my kicks and send them fully to a return track then use a compressor there. It started to clip in the master volume, so I decided to lower ...

Re: Quick question on Ableton's compressor
So in other words the harder I compress the more the makeup gain has to work? Then what about the part with the ratio of 10:1? Shouldn't the output volume only be compensated by 1dB after squashing 10dB? Thats the part I don't get I guess.

Re: Quick question on Ableton's compressor
Thanks Mirthan. I know that the makeup gain switch if turned off will squash everything down. My questions was why is there a volume increase in the first place? What contributes to the volume increase when I used that hard setting? How is the automatic makeup gain calculated to increase the overall ...

Quick question on Ableton's compressor
Hi guys,
I'm new to this and I want to get the concept down. I was playing around with my compressor on a drum loop, and noticed that by increasing the attack, ratio and threshold, I am getting a much higher overall volume. Eg: Ratio 10:1, Attack 2ms, Release 50ms, Threshold -13.1 my loop went from ...
