since live has a track delay wich can be adjusted in ms or samples, i thought i could be a good idea to use the track delay to compensate, for example, for the difference between a D.I. bass track, and a microphone bass track of the same.

you can youse also aptrigga (http://www.apulsoft.ch/aptrigga/) to trigger samples from your original snaretrack...i do that often, because i do live recordings in the club i work (usual with much bleeding.....)

i think the inputs of your ultralite are balanced, but they use trs-stereo plugs instead of xlr-plugs.
no problem so far, if your preamp has a balanced output....

This Izotope stuff is shit, it'll simply ruin your music. It's designed to give an instant 'wow' factor. There's a lot of critical listening involved in mastering, not just smiley face EQing and monstrous compression.
