Hallo,

what is the best CoreAudio Buffer Size on iMac 20''. I ask this because
when I play with the MIDI Note Editor (for example with Impulse)
the notes are played to early. Is this because of a wrong setting of the
Buffer Size.

i believe SATA is faster than firewire 400 - but i dont have any tech specs to go on...
but personally i prefer to keep my audio stuff on another drive, for back up purposes and for defrag concerns. altho i have read somewhere that apparently tiger does it's own defragging...

no idea which drive ...

FW 400 is fine for audio / video, the 800 version is faster but i think you would only really benefit if you work on projects with loads of audio tracks. i believe firewire (400) was initially designed for video / audio editing.

the extra 256mb on the graphics card is probably more useful for ...

does the 20inch have fire wire 800? I dont use firewire, cos i have an mbox 2 and its usb 2, but in the future id like to have somthing like a motu aswell.
Im thinking im gunna go for the 20 inch with 2 gigs of ram.... ill never want to run a second screen so should i bother with the graphics ...

For which application do I need the 256 MB for the ATI X1600?
Or better buy it with 256 MB if MAC OX X 10.5 needs it?

- ATI Radeon X1600: is 128MB enough for Live 6 or better 256MB?

in the manual I find this in the chapter 9.2.2 Sample Loop/Region:

To have the clip’s region played as a (potentially infinite) loop,
turn on the Loop switch. Activating the loop also activates warping;
unwarped clips cannot be played as loops.

is anybody using 21'' TFT (1600 x 1200) with Live. How the icons and letters look? Is it not too small.
