one constant midi note without interruption

So, I'm using sampler to randomly play back different bits of an audio file to get like an organic everchanging loop, trough using a random-LFO to modulate loop start. One thing that i would like to do though, is be able to get Live to play a C3 note without starting over. For now, I've made a 4-bar...

grouped clips?

Is it possible to somehow group a couple of clips so that they start simultaneously when one of them is triggered? I'm going to do a 4-channel atmosphere thing and I'm using two separate stereo channels with diffrent versions of the atmospheres to get 4 separate channels. And i need these to start i...

controlling selected channel volume with midi controller

So, this is probably in the manual but... Is there any way of setting a midi controller so that it controls volume on the selected channel instead of a specific channel? I don't have so many knobs and sliders on my oxygen 8, so it would be kind of useful...

crossfading audio loop clip with itself or next clip

So, what I'm asking is if it's possivble to crossfade a audio clip loop with the end and beginning of itself. Like you can do if you drop it into Sampler... I'm doing a thing with atmospheres and stuff like that, things that doesn't have sharp starts and ends, and it would sound a lot nicer if you d...

Re: Metaclips - explained in pictures!

Just wanted to add my vote for something like this. Cubase has it, so why not Live? I would switch from cubase to Live directly! And about the nesting problems, couldn't they just make it to that it's forbidden to put meta-clips into other meta-clips? I mean, you would't want to do that really anywa...

Re: grouping audio clips like mid notes? (cubase-like)

Yeah, meta-clips, exacly what i want. I don't think session view is exacly what i need, at all really... It seems pretty stupid that Live doesn't have anything like this. I mean your'e supposed to create grooves of and build with them, it's weird that it's not possible with audio, just midi....

grouping audio clips like mid notes? (cubase-like)

Hello, I'm not actually a Live user, but I'm thinking about it and thats why I'm asking this. I tried version 7, but haven't tried v8 since then. I'm currently a Cubase user and it has a feature that i really like, and I would like to know if Live has anything similar (it really should, considering ...

zerobae: yeah, that is of course the easy thing to do, and it's really nice that Live is so integrated that you just can drop audio from the timeline into the samplers and everything. but it still would be really nice and easier to do small edit-changes if you could do it more directly, you know... ...

monobeach: you kinda understand me right. but the thing is that i want to be able to still edit inside the pattern. consolidate is a destructive mixdown, right? the thing is that cubase has a nice way of doing this (and i know cubase and live are very different, but still): when you have a bunch of ...

yes, i know about the arrangement view, and the thing is that i doesn't seem possible to build patterns from audio there either. you can of course edit audio like any normal DAW here (well, almost), but you still can't group different edits into patterns, so that you easily could build a song, right...

work with audio clips just like MIDI

I apologize in advance if this topic already has been touched, I just found it kinda hard to search for. Well, I am not a owner of Live, although I'm thinking about it. I have tried it out and a lot of the stuff that's there is really good for my kind of music making (I make sample based hip hop bea...

more regular mixing (and on two monitors)

Is there any way of changing Live's mixer into a more regular styled one? The thing i'm missing basically is a way to see a overview of the insert FX chain of a channel. And can you somehow free the mixer and the FX from the main window, so you can put them on a second monitor? much like you usually...

fade audio edits?! and grouping audio edits

Hello, just like i mentioned in my recent post, I am checking out Live because I'm sick of Cubase... There are some new questions that have arisen, they might be stupid, but i'll go ahead and ask them anyway... I'm not really using the session part in Live, I'm doing stuff directly in the arrangemen...
