Problem with MIDI mapping_ Radium 49 and Ableton 9

Hi guys... hoping someone can help me out. I have a Radium 49 hooked up to my MacBook Pro (Mac OS X, Vesion 10.6.8). The keyboard plays fine, but for some reason, it won't let me assign MIDI knobs.... When I go into MIDI mapping mode, I turn a knob, and it moves something random like Volume or the l...

Pitch shifting difficulty

Hi all... hoping you can help me out with a problem. In several songs I'm working on, when I mess around with pitch shifting (manually, in the envelopes), I find that it messes up the previous arrangement—in that, the part that I pitch shift subsequently messes up the remainder of that instrument. R...

Re: Pre-amp Question

So like I said, I'm on a MacBook Pro, but can't figure out what soundcard I'm using, or where the control panel might be. Any idea of how to find it?

Re: Pre-amp Question

I'm standing close to the mic, yes... It might be a matter of simply turning down the rest of the music in order to hear myself, and then bringing the levels back up afterwards. However, I can't help but feel that the volume just doesn't have enough Oomph on its own, even with the pre-amp set to hig...

Pre-amp Question

Hey guys, how's it going? I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting such a weak sound from my microphone. In the four years since I've been using Ableton, I've tried an M-Audio pre-amp and, more recently, the phantom-powered Lexicon Alpha. For a mic, I'm using the standard Shure SM58. For whatever re...

Mean-spirited Christmas song

This is "Can We Break Up On Christmas?" which piles on the chintzy sounds of the year along with burbling synths, slithering arpeggios, and at least one sample involving magical reindeer. The question is: Can you handle it?

Trouble with M-Audio Keystudio 25 and Ableton Suite 8

Hi guys... I'm on a MacBook Pro ... I'm trying to figure out how to assign the sliders and buttons on my M-Audio KeyStudio 25 midi-keyboard to Ableton ... I've tried and tried to assign using either the MIDI map or KeyStudio's highly complicated programming but absolutely nothing is working (except ...

Re: What genre is this?

Ooh... I like "electronic music." Why didn't I think of that? Could be the start of something big.

Thanks for your feedback, guys!

What genre is this?

I created this new song on Ableton called "Realistic." You can hear it at:

What would you say this is? Goth-hop? Nu-grave? Necro-electro?

Live software vs. turning software tracks into audio tracks.

Hi, I'm on a G4 with 1.25GB - will be getting a new computer in about a year - and still working with Ableton 7, planning to upgrade in a few months... Lately I've been tending to re-record my software tracks back into the program to cut down on CPU, with pretty much every track I use. However, this...

Recording Vocals

I am having some difficulties getting my vocals to sound up to snuff. I'm a relative neophyte with Ableton. I'm curious as to what software effects and hardware people achieve to lay down vocals, and absolutely any advice on reducing air, S's, and static pops. Any help or suggestions on ways to expe...

SLEEPING WITH SATAN

A terrifying aural souffle? A delightful electro-cabaret romp through the last decade of nocturnal sounds? A scathing indictment upon these troubled times? A brashly shamelessly love letter to homosexual incubi? A soundtrack for the upcoming Black Mass in honor of Samhain? There are questions. They ...
