Thanks for response!

Since my Ibook is brand new, I don't think the hd is on it's way to crash, so should I expect it to be quiet as well?

I have a 1,2 ghz with 768 ram and the 60 gig hd. I will take the computer to the dealer today to hear their opinion.

I had hoped to be able to record in the ...

Any users with silent Ibooks?

I want to know if there are users out there with silent Ibooks?

When i ran the hardware-tests the fans kicked in fully, so I know the difference between full fanning and standard operation level.

If I'm in a silent room (like my living room) I can hear the HD gnurring and a typical high-frequency ...

New Ibook finally arrived!

Jippie! I finally got my new 12" Ibook and have spent the afternoon setting it up and exploring the features of OSX (former PC-user). It's great but I have two short questions for you experienced Mac-users around here...

Where is the best place to look for tips and tricks for configurating OS and ...

I did it!!! - sold my PC and ordered a new Ibook! So now while I wait for it to arrive, I try to decide how much extra ram to add? Is 768 meg (in total) enough or will the extra money for 1,25 gig be well spent.

I plan to use either Logic or ProTools and rewire Live and/or Reason thru it. I will ...

I have been a PC-user since my first computer back in the days (a Mac Performa something =) and have lots of experience from using them as DAWs. But even though they have been working quite nice the last years, I still long for a Mac. This is mainly caused by the feeling (my feeling) that Windows is ...

Mbox Core-audio-driver

Anyone have experience of the Core-audio-driver for the Mbox? I'm planning to buy an Ibook and need a descent audio-interface for recordings and I also need a digital output for my hifi-converter. I thought the m-box might be a really good choice concerning the price and the fact that I get ProTools ...

Does anyone know more about the hack to make ibooks work with higher resolutions on vga-connected monitors? Was it a software-fix only? Will it make dual-screen mode accessible or just allow higher resolutions than 1024x768?

Thanks for fast answears! I have always thought of the powerbook as a perfect computer for me, but when the fans kicked in on my teachers 12" I got really surprised of the noice it was making!

I thought the fans would be running quite often when using it for heavy tasks, wich kept me from buying ...

New Ibook silent?

Can anyone tell me if the new Ibooks or at least the "old" ones are quiter than the Powerbooks? I really want to go for a notebook and especially Mac.

But Powerbooks are still too noicy, or?
If you guarantee that the new Ibooks are as silent as the best Centrinos I sell my PC tomorrow and order ...

Developer comments wanted!

I'm wondering why soft- and hardware developers won't make statements about the pros and cons with Windows XP and and Apple OSX. I remeber reading an interview with a developer at Propellerheads (when OSX was newly released) and he said something like: "if we were developing products for OSX only it ...
