I've recently come across my old Live library from around 2009 and have set about loading my old presets to my current library. IIRC the old library was from a Windows laptop, and I'm currently on an (admittedly prehistoric) MacBook Pro mid 2012 using OCLP to run Ventura.
Ableton 12.1.5 runs fine ...

Re: Loading custom drum racks
Yeah true. I’m already plotting how to use it for the completely incorrect use case and squeeze an hour’s live PA out of a single ‘song’

Re: Loading custom drum racks
Thanks!
8 clips per channel doesn’t seem that restrictive if one of them is a 256 bar beast with 16 pre-bounced stems laid out on it.
Cheers for the swift replies, think I’ll give it a try once it’s out

Re: Loading custom drum racks
Ok 32 individual stems at once from a pool of 64 sounds pretty promising :)
While you’re here:
1. What’s the maximum pattern length
2. What’s the minimum bpm
3. Can each track have different lengths
4. Is preset choice fixed for an entire ‘song’ or can it change per clip?
Just trying to see ...

Loading custom drum racks
Will it be possible to load your own drum racks?
If so, is there a maximum file size per pad and what is the maximum polyphony?
The idea of having 16 * 4 or 8 bar loops mapped across a drum rack and using a single channel to sequence 16 channels of pre-bounced audio behind the other 3 Move ...

+1 for more than 7 colours. A tag based library would be so useful as well

OSX Alias folders not appearing in 'Places'
Morning all! I'm having some issues organising my Places and was wondering if anyone has had the same issue on Live 10. Basically I'm fed up with having all of my Ableton Presets / Clips in one file structure and all of my samples in another, and want to consolidate both to one 'Places' location per ...

Re: empty tracks playing sounds (zombie clips?)
I have had this happen a couple of times in Live 10 as well but I have been unable to reproduce the bug. I've been using Live for over a decade and checked all the usual suspects (playing from arrange / checked routings etc) but couldn't find where the sound was coming from. I was thoroughly ...

Re: First Time User - What laptop to buy?
I'm still using a Macbook Pro mid-2012 (i7, 2.6ghz quad core) and it will take absolutely anything I throw at it music-wise - multiple instances of Diva, recording on loads of channels, running High Sierra, loads of apps at the same time etc. You can pick one up 2nd hand nowadays for about £600 ...

Re: Live 10 upgrade path
I've been enjoying the beta but I can't justify dropping £200+ on buying suite again when I already own it. If it was around £100 I would have already pre-ordered my upgrade but £200 for a slightly different version of a product I already own is a non-trivial amount to be spending.

Re: What is the cheapest MacBook for Live 9?
I can vouch for a Macbook Pro mid 2012 handling Live and multiple instances of UHe Dive etc easily.
That's not being specific. A 13" with a duocore CPU and a 15" with a quadcore are two totally different machines from a performance perspective.
I think the OP has to realize that one cannot ...
