Can someone please explain this to me, simple question

I'm about to upgrade to Live 8 so I can use Looper.

The main function I need is to be able to jam a guitar riff and then hit a foot pedal switch and it loops and opens another clip ready to jam and record. This is possible with looper right?

Also, I'm travelling to China soon so any foot pedal I ...

Seeking advice on looper + pedal combo.

Hi all,

Been using Live 7 a while now but only skimming the surface as I primarily use it to record live instruments in.
Therefore, the idea of live looping is a very exciting one, particularly for the creative process when I've come up with a new riff on guitar and want to see where it can take me ...

Thanks again

agreed duluxdog.

is all that stuff mentioned above really needed? Why, for example, do you need to install a program to delete stuff for you when you can just move it to trash? I understand there might be files around that are linked with an application but if you familiarize yourself with the OSX ...

Sampler vs Kontakt

Hi all,

I am currently learning Kontakt 2 and am thinking am I just wasting my time when theres a Sampler that Ableton offer that I could upgrade to.

Has anyone here used both and can offer a comparison. I would imagine (probably wrongly) Kontakt to be the more in depth Sampler but I only need the ...

thanks for replies.

Can you just clear something up for me. When I start setting the warp markers ableton begins its famous time stretching process and like you said I have to endure it. Then you select the slice to midi track option and it brings it all up in drum rack with its individual simpler ...

dont get me started. I had epic issues sorting my MPD out (24). You know how I solved it? Ended my relationship with Windows.

Without a doubt with the correct care and know how you can run anything on a winows based system. But it all just seems so much easier with a Mac. I picked up a Mac Mini and ...

Slicing to Drum Racks

Hi all,

I like to take old raw breakbeats and use them in drum and bass. I cut them up using warp markers and slice to new midi track. The thing is, I don't like that Ableton time stretches the audio file to fit the warp markers. Its a great function but I like the rawness of the break and want to ...

Ableton keyboard

Ok so I've just seen the Logic keyboard and it seems rather nice.

Was wondering if there is any specially designed Ableton keyboards?

I saw someone on this forum made their own...but Im surprised no company has made one, especially with the ease of keyboard mapping in Ableton. Or maybe thats the ...

ok apologies I can see that some of my questions were answered by doing a little more research. I'm now using the crop sample function to sort out the audio file in clip view. Still interested to hear how other people work though?

Recording Audio, best methods...

Hi all.

I'm a relatively novice user of Live, I switched to it from FL Studio a while back but haven't been able to get deep into it until now (bought a Mac Mini) which solved all my interface problems was having with PC).

I'm interested to learn about methods people use to record audio.

At the ...
