Live's frame-rate on "follow" is low

How can the drawing speed be improved when playing back in arrangement view with "follow" enabled?
It's very choppy, about 10fps.
Since Live doesn't have video settings, are we stuck with this behavior, or is there another way?

Live blocks copying of recorded wav's

Has anyone found a solution to Live blocking the copying of recorded WAV-files out of the samples folder while Live is running? I don't want to have to export the tracks, that is so much more tedious than just grabbing them out of the folder as they are. Anyone know why Live is doing this? I don't k...

Option for "Virgin"-territory of Automated Parameters

This feature is available in some other DAWs, such as Steinberg's. I often find myself in need of automating parameters in sections of my arrangement, but want those parameters not be automated during the rest of the arrangement. That way, I can use re-enable automation, and have only those paramete...

Re: APC Key 25 - Custom mapping WITH LEDs?

...and you didn't even have to disable the script either. All you had to do was set it up to receive midi input and then actually sent the right midi data to it. How can I change how the buttons are mapped without disabling the script, since Akai does not offer user modes with their products? Can y...

APC Key 25 - Custom mapping WITH LEDs?

Does anyone know if the LED's on Akai's APC Key 25 can be made to light up when it is not used with the midi control script? If not, how involved is it to edit the standard script? (I believe it's written in Python which I have no experience with). Has anyone tried using remotify to create custom sc...

Re: How to record new midi clip in occupied slot

Made a false statement in my post. "CLIP DEL" does not remove key/MIDI mappings from the affected slot.
Anyways, I still cannot figure out how to execute remote deletion and re-recording of a clip in the same slot (using a controller other than a Push).
Any ideas?

How to record new midi clip in occupied cell

I'm using a MIDI clip to record automation loops of device parameters on the fly. Looking for a way to start recording a new MIDI clip in place of the existing one (triggered via controller). Would need to be able to do this repeatedly. Considered ClyphX. The ClyphX action "CLIP DEL" will also remov...

Adjust "Preferences" display size according to zoom setting

On a 4K display, the settings dialogue is practically unreadable at the "100%" setting. Everything else adjusts, why not the settings window? I understand that the settings window might not be able to adjust in size while changing the "zoom display" setting on the "Look/ Feel" tab. But next time the...

Re: MIDI mapping clip loop length

It does seem to behave erratically. On decreasing values, it keeps cutting the existing loop length in half, all the way down to the beat value (regardless of global quantisation). Increasing values seem not to accomplish anything. I'm thinking it has to be possible to set a specific length via midi...

Re: MIDI mapping clip loop length

What is a process to set the loop to a specific length via a MIDI value? (not manually via relative control).

MIDI mapping clip loop length

Since the Midi clip loop "Length" field can be MIDI mapped, I'd like to understand how it is intended to be used with MIDI. When mapping a MIDI CC controller (absolute) like a knob to to the "Length" field, I can only decrease the length, not increase it. Why is that? I'd like to send a value to it ...

Re: Entering values or text still activates keyb. mappings!

No you've mapped them.... Cheers D ...obviously, Einstein! :) It's safe to assume that Live is able to recognize when a value or text field is clicked for editing. It would presumably be a small "bug fix" to program the application to disable keyboard mappings during value or text entries. This mak...

ignore keyboard mappings when entering text!

When editing numbers or text anywhere in Live, any keyboard mappings are still active. When any of the mapped keys are hit, the mapped function is still carried out. This both disrupts the entry, and executes an involuntary action. Keyboard mappings should be disabled/ ignored/ bypassed while enteri...

Entering values or text still activates keyb. mappings!

This has been a pet peeve of mine: When editing numbers or text anywhere in Live, any keyboard mappings are still active. When any of the mapped keys are hit, the mapped function is still carried out. This both disrupts the entry, and executes an involuntary action. Is there a way to switch this off...
