I have the same problem with Ableton 9 not finding any of my vsts. I have everything pointed to the correct directory and am running the correct version of live, so there shouldn't be a problem. I'm on Windows 7, even did a restart after installing.

It's weird because I didn't have this happen with Live 7 and it didn't do this for the first few updates of 8 either.

It's not a huge issue, but it does bother my workflow/ocd at times.

I've gone through optimizing, it's definitely nothing due to the speed of my computer as it happens at even low cpu loads (under 20%). Even last night I was working on a track, everything was going fine, then I tried to zoom in on a section, it crashed and I had to log off to close ableton.

It's not just massive since it's happened in projects where I wasn't using that.

Lately when Ableton crashes, it crashes hard. Sometimes I'll get a java runtime error, or the program will just lock up. I can't even end the Ableton process when I go into my Resource Monitor, I have to log off, turn my soundcard off/unplug anything else, then log back in before I can open Ableton ...

Have you maxed out your computer's RAM?

Not at my computer right now to try, so this might be a dumb question, but can I save empty racks for different scales? I'm not sure if the racks (after the first one) go away when I delete the instrument/fx in them.

It does the same thing whether the limiter is on stereo or L/R. When I put in a Utility before the Limiter and use that to pan the sound it works fine. I'd prefer to not add another fx in my chain though/this seems like a bug to me.

So, for some reason when I use the built in track panning on a channel in Ableton the sound coming out of that channel skips past the limiter (Ableton's limiter).

Well, the point would be to quickly open and close the device when the channel is selected, I don't want selecting the channel to be the trigger to open the device.

What does the auto-open plugin custom editor do? Not at my music computer atm.
