Re: Metronome sync problem

No, the problem IS latency. You hear the metronome and play...I'll guess you are using direct monitoring..but by the time the signal gets into Live it's late. That's latency.

Re: Tonal Balance

That's what is commonly called a "matching EQ" application. There are self-contained EQ plugins (like Match EQ in Logic) that can match the frequency spectrum balance of a reference recording, the Izotope plugin is a bit different since it controls another EQ plugin. I've also used a standalone app ...

Re: I'm looking to survey DAW users to understand usage and demographics

Interested in seeing how the percentages change as time goes on, but I was surprised to see that as of today Reaper was the most used DAW (and FL the second!), and how few use Rewire or Link.

Re: Massive X - Massive F (Up)?

those snapshot things are apparently for launching different performers using a midi keyboard OK, I've used that sort of feature in Alchemy before. You sacrifice one octave of keys, so not too useful unless you have at least 61, and can call up snapshots in real time. I bet nobody could figure that...

Re: Implement Velocity Sensitivity the correct way

If Simpler indeed does this (never tried it), that's up to Simpler, not Live. I know that Sampler, Analog and Operator (which I do use) don't do that. Velocity is always interpreted by the receiving device. Most devices of course, interpret it the way the OP asked...max velocity yields the same leve...

I tried installing some instruments from my M Audio keyboard
What does that mean?
Only other change was that I applied a windows update.
I see a red flag

Re: Massive X - Massive F (Up)?

NI really dropped the ball on this one. Once they announced it wouldn't be ready on the original launch date, they should have waited until it was done rather than sell users an unfinished product. -- I discovered that the only controls that can be automated are the 16 macro knobs at the top. Those ...

I plug my keyboard into the Midi interface and set to channel 1.
What's your keyboard?
He is using the keyboard on his laptop.

Re: MIDI Keyboard issues

Do you have a MIDI monitor app on your computer? You can use that to confirm that the LPK is sending note messages for all keys across all octaves.

Re: Ableton live can utilize 32 threads on windows, and 64 on mac. Why?

I used to work for Intel and AMD amongst other tech companies doing processor and networking design. The threading issue has more to do with the OS than the hardware underneath it. Threads are spawned by processes (Live runs as one process) and each process is allocated memory space by the OS. There...

Re: Help With Expression Pedal

It's not odd at all. As I wrote in your other post, MIDI CC reception is 100% dependent on the receiving device. In fact that is true of all MIDI communications. EDITED: OK, I sat down and messed around with Sampler, a few other native devices and third party plugins. 1. None of the native Ableton d...

Re: CC11 (Expression)

swanny8777, Since you came over here from your other thread, I'll point out why the OP had trouble four years ago. From the Zebra manual: While auditioning presets you should always try the performance controls velocity, pitch bend, modulation wheel and pressure. Many presets are also programmed to ...

Re: Help With Expression Pedal

Your problem is you are trying to MIDI map the expression pedal. Live reads CCs just fine without requiring Remote to be activated, your mod wheel works, right? The problem is your software instruments, not the keyboard. Some instruments respond to CC#11 by default, some can be configured to do so, ...
