Re: Acid Wav Loops to Midi convert best way?

Please explain what you mean by by "convert to MIDI". Are you asking about using pitch to MIDI conversion or something else entirely?

Re: Komplete Kontrol s88 mk2 cant map hardware buttons / knobs to ableton instruments

It's in NI's court as far as support, not Ableton.

There is a script here at KVR that claims to be able to control Live's native devices.

APC40 mkII controlling devices

I have a question for APC40 mkII owners.

When controlling devices other than macros, how do you deal with not knowing what parameter is under control before twisting the encoders. Do you just figure it out by trial and error and then memorize it or write out a cheat sheet for each device?

Re: free licence?

If you mean the demo license, it doesn't allow saving anyway. Once you own any version of Live the demo is no longer available for download to you.

Re: Question for APC40 Mk2 owners.

Live has a Value Scaling takeover mode that allows smooth parameter changes from controller inputs. Rather than jumping to the current slider position, it adjusts the parameter in the direction the slider moves. This is only WYSIWG once the two values are equal. The other modes are: None — As soon a...

Re: Can someone please explain the mono/stereo functionality with Ableton channels?

All tracks have stereo outputs, even those recorded with mono inputs. It's a lot simpler to use than DAWs like Logic that actually have both mono and stereo audio tracks.

Re: Reamping my guitar track - 2 newbie questions?

If you route both guitar tracks out of a single output, they will be mixed into mono.

Stompboxes almost never have stereo inputs anyway. If you want the stompboxes on both guitar tracks, you will have to do each track separately.

Re: Sustain pedal not releasing sounds when pedal is released

Reading the iRig docs it appears that the jack accepts normally open sustain pedals. Make sure your polarity switch is set for normally open. Try both settings of polarity and see what happens.

If you want stereo, you need to use both channels on the interface.

I'm trying to set up an old synth with my laptop (casio cz-101 & macbook). when I record into an external instrument track and try play it back nothing comes out
I think you have to route the output of the External Instrument track to an audio track to record the audio.

Re: Sustain pedal not releasing sounds when pedal is released

How are you connecting the sustain pedal to Live? Do you have a MIDI monitor app on your computer so you can view the MIDI messages?

Re: external digital sound card for conversion

All audio interfaces (sound cards) are digital. The delay can be corrected in Live. From the Live 10 Manual, section 14.1 If you are recording into Live with monitoring set to “Off,“ you may want to make the Audio Preferences’ Overall Latency adjustment, which is described in the built-in program tu...

Re: Orchestral packs: poor range

Good orchestral libraries are expensive because they require lots of samples and ways to switch articulations easily. The sort of libraries people use for scoring films cost thousands of dollars. I think you would find the orchestral libraries of all DAWs to be rather pathetic, Logic probably has th...

Windows or Mac?

On a Mac open up the Audio/MIDI Setup utility and make sure the MOXF8 is recognized there.

Can't help you with Windows.

Re: Ableton problems with external synth connected via USB

Try power cycling the Blofeld instead of restarting Live and see if that works. I had the Blofeld module and never had any USB MIDI issues with it, definitely not what you are seeing. The OS even after all the revs still was buggy esp. with respect to clock synching of the arpeggiator and LFOs. A fe...
