I can't belive that in this day and age,and on this forum especially, we are still trying to define what a DJ is... I use 2 turntables, a laptop, 2 mixers, and a couple of Midi controllers. I still consider myself a DJ. I could easily get by with 1 laptop and 1 midi controller, and still call mysel...

what i usually do is i seperate the songs by leads/basses/drums. I don't really touch the full song while it's playing, but when i get to the intro and outro, i extend the songs and create really interesting stuttering, repeating, backspinning, etc mixes. it completely depends on the tune. some tunes simply dont want to be chopped into loops, maybe they have an upbeat into a vocal line, in which case i would just let that tune run into the original song. other tunes i cut every 16 bars, maybe more maybe less. i think the key is to cut the tunes up s...

you can get as complicated as you want, i've got thousands of tunes warped now and i find it easier to have lots of folders. a folder to select the genre, then the key of the music, then finally a folder named after the tempo, artist and then song name, that folder then contains the original track,...

Well all in all i dont think that you can be creative 'live' with trance, with genres like techno, minimal or electro yes, but if you will experiment with trance on stage it is easy to ruin everything.
