Re: Soundcloud officially fucks you now.

Agree with the simple part, make it as plain and simple as possible. A good name might also help :P If you can offer way more service in terms of distribution, promotion, availibility etc., you would be in your right to charge more than existing services, as this would make the service more attracti...

Re: How was Live 1like?

Have to ask...

is correcting grammar becoming the forum-wise equivalent of racism?

I think I can see a storm gathering in a glass of water here...

Re: Where can you find tuned drum samples?

As a drummer, I'd say that (from my experience, and the experience of others) drum sounds are usually most musically successful when "atonal" in character, meaning that they have a certain drop in pitch, a too quick decay, or a too wide frequency response to be percieved as being in a specific pitch...

Re: Tips for native ableton users learning reason?

Ok, a tip; press the little square in the upper right corner of the reason window to get the sequencer in a seperate window. This was actually the most valuable little thing I learned in all my years of using reason.... If you enjoy using session view looping for making beats, tweaking sounds, layer...

Re: which of the new functions in L8 are you actually using...?

In a random order; - Scrolling tracks and long samples in the browser - Group tracks - OVERDRIVE! - Vocoder (a little) - The new midi editor and warp mode, quantize (never used it before the new warping layout) - Multiband Dynamics - Fullscreen, WOHOOO! - Altering sizes and parameters on multiple tr...

Re: Talent vs Imagination

* Tend to not work well with other musicians * Tend to be more interested in themselves than with complimenting the people they are playing with and tend to prefer playing difficult things (often at loud volumes) even when simplicity complements a song better. * Tend to be very good at playing impr...

Re: MBP Santa Rosa bug seems to have dissapeared?

Holy sh*t! I never even heard of this bug, but now some of my most CPU-eating projects have gone down from 55-60% to 30-35%! Also extra happy today because Ableton fixed a bug in their .2 update that was stopping me from opening a project with the error "Invalid Product ID". Such support!! ;);) I kn...

Re: 5400 or 7200 rpm Macbook Pro HD upgrade?

Are you upgrading the internal hard drive on your MBP? Is that even possible?

Sorry for the n00b question, just want to be sure I understand correctly, as I have a MBP myself, and didn't know you could change anything but the ram...

Re: Mastering, when?

IMO the only thing you should place on your master channel while mixing is some sort of spectrum analysis tool, like the one that comes with Live. This way, you can correct whatever bass/treble exess or dynamic issues you might be having in the final stages of mixing - IF you can not already hear th...

Invalid product ID? Hot chicks!

Invalid product ID OK .... 8O I get this message, and a template session, when I try to open a specific session I made these past three days, using only L8.... no plug-ins, no rewiring, nothing.... just a really meaningless error message, that won't show up in the manual, or on this forum. Anyone ha...
