This is quite funny. I put a search for sasha into the digi-design website (the ones that now own ableton) and its suggestion was hilarious. it says do you mean (go there to find out.)

I am in the session view and draging from the finder (within ableton). If i try to drag say 5 aiff files from the left into the session then this works. If i have a nuber of edits of a track (i.e. full track, first break, beat loop 1, 2 etc...) then this will not drag onto the session view.

I have been using ableton for a good long time now for doing dj sets i have posted up the 4th in my progressive sessions mix, check it out people and let me know what you think. Any feedback is appreciated.

you could do this in live 4 too, go to the arrange page and go to master / tempo and put your highest and lowest tempo in there. 7bit controllers are fine for this.

just would like to know as i have 2 macs and a pc, i use 1 mac in the studio 1 on the road and occasionally use a laptop.

this is very easy, you assign a fader to the tempo, then go into the arrange page view go to the bottom (master) and put tempo between say 125 - 140. this way you get a genuine fader control much like that on technics or cdj's

you then just whack a loop in there and beat match it by pressing stop ...

the thing i don't understand about this (if its even real) is why the hell have they got 2 ipods. an ipod is just a hard disk surly 1 would do??? apple probably gave numark the go ahead on the basis they create a 2 ipod type of machine so it would double their sales.

I have an iMac, and it just doesn't cut it for serious music, particularly at 24 bit. A couple of VI's can max it out, or Kontakt II or Reaktor by itself! Kontakt with its built in convolution reverb will go over 100% CPU. Wish I'd gotten a bigger computer!
