Re-reading your question, I think maybe you think of lfo which modulates a cc controlled by hardware, is this it?
this is the only way i had been able to lfo anything in live from bidule using OSX-- taking over an existing hardware assignment. but now with seb@plogue's help i just figured out the ...

simply a cc creator. How else could it be done?
i don't know of another way, that's why i asked-- thought maybe you did. :) just to be clear, on XP you use midi yoke to send the LFO, but you do have to already have the CC assigned in Live to a hardware controller, is that right?

anyway, good of ...

yes I used a looper in bidule, because I thought it should output audio for not being shut down by live, but it was a mistake, a midi dummy clip do the trick as well.
my lfo is simply an oscillator, with control of freq and amp. I add 1 to the output and multiply the result by 0.5, so the signal ...

I am on XP and I use midi yoke to send midi from the plogue lfo. The boring thing is that live shuts down plogue if it doesn't ouput audio.
So here is what I do : put the Vsti version in a midi track. Send cc's to midi yoke device out, and I put a looper playing anything and mute the track.
I hope ...

too bad, i use bidule every day. takes a while to learn, or at least it did for me.

i found that using bidule to lfo cc's was a little tricky, relatively speaking. i just recently figured out a good way is to set up bidule as a virtual midi controller using the remote scripting feature in live ...

I need to be able to input exact tempo changes into master track automation. Why can't the arrangement simply record the bpm automation set up in session view? Did I miss something?

MacBook Pro 2.16Ghz, 2Gb ram, OS 10.4.11, Live 7

Just upgraded to Live 7 hoping to leave the "dragging cpu" problem behind (as well as the bug with tracks that use the EQ Three suddenly breaking into level meter-buried/amplifier overloading/sound technician cursing noise).

Alas, the "dragging CPU ...

P.S. Live 6.0.10, MacBook Pro, OS 10.4.11.

So I found this post describing the same problem with multiple instances of EQ Three:

Also, discovered that this problem was addressed for beta 7.

Question: should I assume this will ...

unexpected level spikes-- OUCH!

Problem: out of nowhere I am currently experiencing tracks with levels suddenly spiking to infinity, overloading sound systems, making sound techs very upset in performance venues, etc. And to complete Murphy's Law, this will happen ten minutes before a performance, causing me to disable as much as ...

does it apply to notes quantized automatically during the record pass? I didn't think so (?)
sorry, Amaury, and thanks for the quick response. I forgot that the feature was there. So for composition this is good.

However, re: longjohn's question, is there a way to do this in real time ...

"soft" quantize

Request: the ability to quantize to a percentage of chosen value, so we can have a "hard" or "soft" choice. this could open up some interesting possibilities with relationships to randomness. :)

reveal Live's parameters for modulation by other software

Request: allow all Live's parameters to be revealed for MIDI modulation in other environments.

For example, I use Plogue Bidule and would love to have a more even trade between these two environments-- that is, Live control Bidule AND Bidule control Live.

(Maybe the Cycling74 relationship will ...
