i want to tweak my g4 800 mhz ibook so live will run smoothly,

can some one please tell me how to adjust the amount of memory and cpu that live uses so i wont get sudden 100% cpu surges.

SHOULD I GO USB WITH AN MBOX OR
FIREWIRE WITH AN M-AUDIO BOX?

I JUST NEED TO RECORD GUITARS AND VOCALS. HAVING THE MBOX I WOULD REALLY LIKE BEING ABLE TO RECORD DRUMS IN ANOTHER STUDIO AND BE ABLE TO OPEN THAT SAME SESSION WITH THE MBOX IN PROTOOLS AND THEN REWIRE INTO LIVE.

IS THE MBOX WORTH IT ?

does anyone know what programming language programs like live,reason,and absynth are written in?

any suggestions on what the best language to write these types of programs is?

i am using a mac g4, if that matters
