Is it possible to open up Ableton files made on a PC on a mac?

I am about to start working with someone a long way away. Would a 'collect all & save' work on both platforms?

We both use Ableton 7.

A track I was working on was working fine, now when I open it, the bar showing processor power usage goes up to 350% and stays there. There is no audio and the only thing you can do is force live to quit. Then you load the track again and it does the same thing again.

Any suggestions?

removing all microsoft mouse drivers and installing and using a logitech mouse has solved the problem

If you have a hardware compressor or eq wired into live via your interface (for example a hardware compressor placed over the master channel) how does rendering/exporting audio work?

When you go to export audio, does it play the whole track through in realtime.

Can anyone tell me the range of qualities and file types ableton can handle.

I have someone coming over later and don't have the manual to hand.

I think the files they have are 88.1khz 24bit aiff files.

A song that I was working fine last night will not load at all tonight. No setting have been changed on my pc sice it was last open.

Looking at the size of it, the early version was 0.6mb , then a later version was 6mb and the version I want, which will not load, is 16mb!
