using computer keyboard like an apc40 or launchpad
is it possible to setup some basic mappings on a computer keyboard to mimic the behaviour of a novation launchpad with the very basic clip launching/stopping. I would want to map a standard group of say 8 keys for clip launch and then have a movable 1x8 grid that i can move around session view to ...

Midi-mapping APC40 buttons
Im hard midi-maping some of the device controls and buttons on the APC40, such as the device on/off button to globally turn off and on a master channel FX, so I don't have to have the track selected at all times, however I loose the LED is always on now, regardless of whether the device is on or off ...

pitch bend automation
I've been having this issue with certain midi clips that I try to automate the pitch bend within the clip its self. If I draw in a pitch bend that ends at the end of the clip, it seems to carry on to the next clip(s), until i nudge the pitch wheel on my midi controller, so it fixes itself. Within ...

mixing dubstep and house
Hi,
I have a gig coming up, and I'm wondering the best way of mixing a house tune(128bpm) with a Dubstep tune(139bpm)
I realized that dubstep is basically played at a half-time feel of normal house, but its still slightly faster (about 10bpm) like the example above. Whats the best way of mixing ...

Well I found this program called InTime. Someone of you guys might be interested in this. But its a computer program that takes in MIDI information, and sends out Clock and Sync Data to other programs such as Ableton Live. Based on the videos what I'm thinking I could do is, attach a midi pickup to ...

since your not using anything prerecorded turn off global quantinization.
that will allow you to ignore abletons tempo and just play and loop based off the drummer.
then when the loop is rolling it will be like you playing the bass so as long as the drummer knows how to follow the bass player then ...

thanks for the ideas dootdoot. In regards to the drummer. When we tried in the past, he does have a tendency to go out of synch with a loop, but we never really had a decent way to monitor out loops, other than just running them out of our PA system, through the mains. when everyone is playing their ...

looping live with a drummer
Hi guys, new to the forum and somewhat new to ableton.
I purchased ableton in order to do live looping with my band, which consists of me (bassist), drummer and guitarist. Ultimately what I would like to do is at certain points of a song record a bass line via MIDI, and then allow it to loop, so I ...
