Gain device with practical automation range?
I have a very simple Max for Live patch which is essentially just a volume fader. I use it as a "send" for devices in Audio Effects Racks. The only problem is the automation range is not super useful. I want to be able to automate from -inf to + 0 (or +6) but have the automation range scale in a ...

Buffer Shuffler 1 download?
I opened up an old session today that used the original Buffer Shuffler, however I did not save it with the session, and I no longer have it. I re-downloaded Max for Live Essentials but it only contains Buffer Shuffler 2.0. Is there a download link of the original buffer shuffler somewhere? Or ...

Re: Noob question regarding 32bit AU's
cotdagoo, the grandparent poster asked about AU's. All of your links discussed JBridge, which, according to its documentation, only supports VSTs.
Does anyone know of a 32-bit Audio Unit bridge?
Thanks

Set volume fader default level?
Is it possible to set a default volume fader level in Live? I'd like to have each audio or MIDI track I create default to -8db.
Thanks!

Re: Max Follow MIDI Clock Sync Tempo Changes?
Hmm, [sync~] is actually providing sync information in my patch. I haven't tested it thoroughly but it is doing something heheh. I'll definitely give [plugsync~] a shot this weekend. Cheers!

Max Follow MIDI Clock Sync Tempo Changes?
I'm creating a looper/sampler for live performance in Max for Live. I sync Live to Traktor Pro 2's MIDI Clock output. My Max patches get tempo information when they are instantiated, so when the tempo changes once they're already running, the patches do not keep in sync with the new tempo ...

FYI I tried booting into a 32-bit kernel but the problem persisted.

Start up crash Live 8.2.5b1 Lion Mac Pro, OK on MacBook Pro
Edit : Originally this post said 8.2.5b2. Oops

I've sent this in to [email protected] but I'll post it here as well.
Live 8.2.2 and Live 8.2.5b1 both work on my MacBook Pro running Lion. However, neither are even able to launch on my Mac Pro running Lion. Logic 9.1.4 works just fine.

Stuttering while changing tempo
I sync Ableton Live to Traktor Pro 2 via MIDI clock on the Mac OS IAC bus for performances. Other times I may sometimes put in a tempo change through automation. Whenever either situation occurs, the audio "skips" or "stutters." It has similar artifacts to having your audio buffer too low. However ...

Thanks Kanuck! I couldn't find that anywhere, and of course, now that you've mentioned it, I found it in the manual. Doh!

Send Return track to Return track?
I've tried searching around for this but the terms aren't very Google-friendly ;)
I use Ableton Live to perform live shows with a Presonus Firebox. I use every analog output for different instrument sends and mixes. I use a return bus with the S/PDIF output for my monitor send. It's a different mix ...

Re: kontrol x1 encoders eratic behaviour, mapped to Live Devices
That dosn't answer the question or issue here. That is just standard midi preferences setup in Live.
What were talking about is how 'Exactly' to Edit these X1 endless encoders to make them behave properly. Properly meaning, not jumping all over the place, or having to crank the knob just to have the ...

Constructive complaining to developers can sometimes improve things. There's nothing wrong with requesting features or highlighting bugs.

Re: kontrol x1 encoders eratic behaviour, mapped to Live Devices
Ah ha! Finally figured it out. You have to enable MIDI remote control for the Kontrol X1.
Live -> Prefs -> MIDI Sync -> MIDI Ports -> Input: Traktor Kontrol X1 -> Remote On
Then you can edit your controllers in the NI Controller Editor to your heart's content.
