as a regular user of mac and pc, I can honestly say it doesn't matter.

whatever you choose, you're going to have issues to seriously bitch about, and boast about as well.

my only real advice is that Apple is a much bigger money pit.

hardware upgrades and peripherals for PC's can be found cheap in ...

here's where I'm at...

please correct any assumptions I have made in regards to Reaktor or Live's midi capabilities.

...live is not capable of recieving midi from a VSTi.

the "midi from" tab on the channel strip refers to the midi input device armed on that channel, not the midi information ...

i would like to know as well

ableton is actually the only program I'd use for a project like that.

you can set "warp markers" on all of your source material that will automaticly sync the tempo of every instrumental, acapella; etc.

no luck yet...

Native Instruments Battery is the best replacement

but I would just try using Live with Impulse and Simpler first before you buy anything you don't need.

this seems like it should work with no snags.

building an analog style sequencer in reaktor to control a VSTi on a different channel in live.

the one thing I wish live had was a simple 16 step analog-style sequencer with randomize.

I downloaded one from reaktor's user library that was suppossed ...

from reading the entire thread, it's obvious that reason is a much bigger priority than monitors.

battery 2 is great, but only if you can afford it.

i rarely use factory kits, and this is a great feature of batery 2

other than that, most of the features are things that can be accomplished (some easier than others) in live.

i use it, but not all the time, and if i didn't have it, i don't think ...

for what you ar trying to do, you really need a multi in / out ASIO soundcard.

i use an m-audio delta 10/10lt (not too expensive), and i'm constantly running things out of live and back in again with no latency issues. i even automate my external devices with live.

if your sound card only has 1 ...

i used to use cubaseSX to create all of my loops, then i would use live to put them together- since live's integration of midi, i havn't had the urge or need to open up cubase at all.

cubase is a great program, and addmitedly can do many things live can't, so it all comes down to the needs of the ...

not true

and especially not true if you're using a VCA mixer where none of the audio signal passes through the actual channel fader

as a shop tech for a pro sound company i've worked with every major brand of mixer and phono-pre, and the cleanest, best sounding phono pre amp is made by Rane.

there are many on the market, and they all sound different

"entertainment web-portals" sounds fishy....

and what do russian entertainment web portals have to do with discussion on ableton live?

maybe if you mentioned the relevance, everyone would be a lot less sketched out.
